Recommended Posts

Hi all! Lynette glad to see you are still doing so well. Keep it up you FABULOUS one.

Dini, just got on quickly at work. I am sorry to hear you are feel poorly. You say you have 4 little incisions. I thought they did 5. I sure hope its only 4. I don't have to worry about Aunt Flo visiting. She died..:P I think 3 lbs is great. That's 3 less you have to lose. Later....

ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS!!!! She died. :laugh

Dini, make my poms PURPLE and you've got a deal!! Oh yeah, I'm not even looking forward to the first poo. I finally passed a small amount of gas today since I've been burping a lot, and it wasn't nice.

I didn't get stitches. I was glued, and then they put this dressing over top of it that will eventually fall off. And I just counted and I have 5 incisions. Different Dr.s do things diferently. I got a 4cc band, and I know there are other sizes out there too. No fill yet, have to wait a month. I just made my 2 week post op appointment for July 17.

Sunny, so sorry to hear your "Aunt Flo" died, but you're probably ok with that aren't you!!!

dmtjet, I know I'm not allowed in the pool or a bath for 2 weeks, but ask your Dr. I didn't think I could take a shower for 3 days, but that's where I'm headed right now because they said I could shower today.

Dini girl, you are too funny. I'm getting mine done later in the week. Maybe I'll have IRISH DINI written acrossed 9 of my nails, and put the 4 leaf clover with the 7 in it on the last nail!! How's that sound?

Or maybe I'll choose ten Lucky 7's and have their name painted on each nail. Then if I do my toes, I can choose 10 more!! Just kidding!!

Well, I'm heading to the shower. I think it's time. Then I'm going to get out of the house and walk around the block a few time. I'll check back in later.

Dini--That's ridiculous for a pedicure to be so much!!! In So Cal, they only cost that much in Beverly Hills or some expensive spa, but everywhere else they're about $20, maybe $25.

Ronik, my darling if it cost only 25$ i would be getting them every week & would have the prettist feet of all the land!! mind you if pedicures are that cheap i'm sure everything else is. Jesus i would pamper myself all the time. Then god love everyone i'd be a cocky demom. Letsw just say it probably best i can't pamper myself everyweek, i'd have the biggest head ever!

Lynette sugar if you want my name on your nails you go girl i promise i wont ask you to take it off!!

on a more serious note i'm not feeling the support off Adam (my partner) he thinks he's being really helpful but to be honest he's totally not. Even little call or txt to see how i am but he ALWAYS as an excuse why he didn't.. eg he didn't want to bother me, he taught i wouldn't answer my phone in the doctor ...lalalalalala

hope everyone is well. x

Hey Dini. I go every 2 weeks...I LOVE it! Oh, I'm gonna have to hold myself back as the wt comes off. Don't get me wrong, I'm not conceited, but I do have a healthy sense of esteem (go figure). Even as a plus-sized woman, I've always taken care of myself. I just don't want to go overboard as the wt comes off. Just being honest. ;) I know I'm gonna be a hottie jalottie!

As for Mr. Adam...maybe he's having a hard time dealing w/this b/c he knows you're beautiful already, have a great personality, and he's scared what's gonna happen once you start losing wt. Maybe he's worried you'll start getting more attention from men and that scares him. Maybe he's upset that you'll no longer be attracted to him. I'd talk to him about. I'd have to. That's just me. I like to get stuff out on the table. No sense in letting it fester. I'm sorry he's not being as supportive as you would like.

Dini, I'm sorry you're not feeling support from Adam.:cry I know this will be my DH in a few days, but I do think they care, maybe they just don't understand the support we want.:straight They should have a support thread for spouses, partners, etc. and I think there is one, but would they go??

They probably won't be able to get us off the computer so they can get on. HA-HA.:biggrin1:

Don't be afraid to tell him what kind of support you need, or that you want. Remind him you are doing this for yourself, as well as your family.

Best of Luck to you. Hope things get better.;)

You're welcome! We're glad to have a male among the group. We had a couple others, but we haven't heard from them in a while. Just look away from the screen when we're talking about all the 'feminine stuff'. ;) LOL.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
