East Coast vs West Coast too cute.

Candice- I had muscle milk lite 25grs pro and boiled shrimp that's why protien was so high.

I swam this morning for 1 hr and it's 10:30pm now, I don't go to sleep till at least one so I'm going on the treadmill now. I haven't logged on thedailyplate yet for today. I pbed a few boiled shrimp this morning then had a salad at Chevy's tonight, and a grape popsicle and 4 Fiber tabs.

OMG WTF IS MY POST !!!!!! I WROTE A LONG ONE 3 HRS AGO!!!

Well I was just about to get off the computer - I posted here and my mentor thread - then went to farm .... And I forgot exactly what I wrote....

Candice & Linda Congrats on your 1 lbs loss !!!! WTG:thumbup:

Kari - I looked up your squirt - 120 calories for 8 oz - did you drink 8 oz or 20 oz bottle - if it was a 20 bottle you had 300 calories !!!!! I'm comming to your farm and Water it with squirt and all your plants are going to die.

Karri - Well darling I am proud of the exercise and love the lost poundage !!!!

WTG WEST COAST..

Denise - WTG mate !!!! Love the exercise !!!!

I'm 3.5 loss :) I guess doing starches every other day works plus the extra exercise...

Well - I told you all about my sorta boring day - I tried to stay out of the house so I wouldn't be tempted to eat - I even went shoe shopping with Debbie (I didn't get any shoes)

I did get some new sheets for when my DD Karri comes to visit in a couple of weeks..

Angel isn't limping - but not putting tons of weight on her left leg - most likely surgery next friday...

Ok it's 9 and I have just had a few shrimp while farming - I need to eat some real dinner and watch some t.v.

This post better fricken post....

Hi there ladies. This may be my last check in while away. Hopefully will be having way too much fun in Vegas tomorrow on to Thursday to post.

I drove all day. Tried to keep my munching to a minimum but did succumb to the good n plentys. But only one box...had cottage cheese and peaches for lunch and 1/2 quessadilla for dinner. Then went and did 30 mins on the elliptical and 30 minutes on the treadmill. I would have done more but it was 1030 by the time my last 30 minutes was done and I do have to sleep. I'm going to get up early tomorrow and do my workout in the morning. It will be good to do that before sitting in the airport going crazy for 2 hours.

With all of your guys' weight loss it may drive me crazy to be away from my scale for this long. I'll just have to keep working out and watching my food. I won't be driving so I won't be tempted to munch on candy. Seems to be the only time that is a problem. Go figure. Maybe it has something to do with smoking while driving. That used to be my hardest time after I quit smoking. I loved to smoke while driving down the road...then transfered that to food. Now I don't have food either. I did chew 1/2 pack of gum while I was driving too.

I hope Karla's graduation went well. I've been thinking of her. I may have to call her on Monday and see how she did. I don't remember if the ceremony was today or is tomorrow. The weather was pretty nice over there I think. I'm keeping positive thoughts going that way.

Oh...and as far as northerners vs. west coasters....I just have to say north is opposite of south....east opposite of west....how do we get north vs west. And where do I fit??? I'm so confused. The west probably doesn't want me because I'm going to be on vacation...and they get Karri!

Karri, great job on your weight loss. How awesome is that??

Oh...did I tell you guys that I plan on going to stripper 101 in Vegas? They say it is an amazing workout. We'll see.

Okayl..I've gotta get to bed. Have a good night ladies. Love you. I'll try to check in every now and again.

The north came from Candice - cuz she's up north - so I just group all of you who weren't on the west coast together - phyl me karri are in the states that are on the west coast - I don't have a map in front of me - but in my mind (I know it's feeble) you are closer to Candice than me - so I put you karla candice linda kari together - really I would call it east with kari & linda - but you are all east of me in a way - also - it break down to 5 on each team - W Phyl Me Karri Denise Ruby - N You Linda Candice Kari Karla - you got Karla and since she's newly banded and tight you have a weight lost demon with here - so the card's aren't stacked against you :0)

Have fun in vegas - hope you win win win... you will be doing ton's of walking so that's going to help - stay away from the buffets :0)

Well off to the GYM !!!! This is where the weight comes off - plus eating healthy,..

(Scale says I'm down but I don't trust it 100%. We'll see tomorrow- Wii and TOPS. DGD. 19th birthday today and she chose for us all to go to Buca! That should be interesting! Family style Italian. I pretty much know what they'll order and its not good! I'll have a part of a meatball and salad. TTYL

Hope you're all having a happy weekend. It's coooold here! The wind is nasty. I bought a cool new wind sock and hung it out yesterday. It was a good one, but the ends are already frayed :) There's a raw wind off the lake and even though the sun is brilliant today, I just can not stand to be outside. We went to church in the park this morning, and that was enough for me!

Yesterday was a decent food day. So far today not too bad. I'm doing my part for the team! How about the rest of the team--Candice, Karla, Kari?

I did a 7 mile run today. If the scale stays the same then I have lost my 5 pounds. But I won't count it until it says it again tomorrow.

My arm is raw right now. The run chaffed me so bad. I am going to beg the doctor to do my arms when I get the girls reduced. I can deal with what they look like, but the skin hangs so much that they get rubbed raw when I run unless I have long sleeves on. Well it is kind of hot to run in long sleeves when it is 70 degrees outside.

Gott run. I have a few things that I need to get done. Check in later.

OMG.... watching Michael Phelps eat on 60 Minutes!

Disgusting!

He could use some lessons on taking small bites!

Overall, my food today was okay.

My usual small eggbeaters omelet for BF,

Costco samples for lunch.< /span>

Bucca di Beppo... an extremely frustrating experience!!

Am I the only that feels this way....??????

because of the unique way that we have to eat...

I DO NOT like other people putting my food on my plate!

On the cruise we only went to the buffet twice..

partly because Earl thought it was too noisy

And... he likes to be served;

but.. I went along with it because as soon as they saw me coming on my scooter I would be bombarded with wait staff wanting to help. At first I would say, "no" and tell them I could manage or my husband was helping, but they just wouldn't quit and I'd finally give in.

Then I would get very frustrated because I'd say I'd like a "little" of.... _______, and I never got just a little.

36_2_64.gif

So, as you can imagine, I found the Bucca di Beppo dinner for DGD's birthday tongiht... extremely frustrating. Most of the food was on the other table... we were at side by side booths, 12 of us (including 2 babies). So, I wanted a part of a meatball and a tiny bit of spaghetti, SIL got it for me. I got too much spaghetti. Someone put a big spoonful of gnocchi on my plate which I didn't even want... I wanted to taste maybe one. I didn't eat that. It was awful anyway. I definitely ate a few things I shouldn't have, but I didn't overdo and I didn't leave uncomfortable. Next time I am in a situation like that, I wil insist on putting my own food on my plate. I did use a little salad plate and not their big dinner platters!

Where do you buy this 'muscle milk' product? I've never heard of it:confused:

Ah Phyl; I totally know what you mean... People just want to LOAD you up... I know ith 'their' way of showing love... but they just don't get it. Yest. my GF Ginette put my steak on my plate... it was a striploin and at least 6 -7 oz in size... I said 'Uh, could you cut that in half for me? I won't be able to eat that much".... so she put half of it back for me... and I couldn't eat ALL of what was left only got about 3 oz. which was PLENTY..

I agree with you about eating off the salad plate... much more feasable.

As it turns out I am up a tad this a.m. but I think it'll go with peeing today and lots of water...

I was going to ride my bike to work today for exercise but its freeking raining:mad:

Weighed myself this morning and I held at 179. I'm not going to complain about that as I expected a rise with the meds I'm on. I FEEL bloated. I had a decent food weekend. I had bad thoughts, but they were only thoughts, I didn't succumb to the demons. I feel good about the week, even if it doesn't look like I made any progress on the scales. The mind battles were won.

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!
