Are you looking for the BariatricPal Store? Go now!

3 1/2 months out- a few observations- anyone else identify?

Recommended Posts

So here are a few things I notice.

I can't eat avocados ????. I throw up almost immediately after.

Sometimes, all I can keep down are a few Pringles - about five. But then the next meal I can tolerate something more substantial.

Noodles are No Bueno! I cannot digest them either- and I throw up after.

I have just had a cold. This is gross, but I have been eating smaller amounts because I am already full from - drainage. Ewe.

I lose a few pounds and then silence from the scales for a week or so. Every now and then my weight will go up a pound or so. But then the loss continues on track.

I really want a food I can eat that I can say, wow, that was awesome!

chicken broth with lemon juice is comforting most of the time.

I go to the grocery store and I wander- looking for something appetizing and something I can keep down.

But overall, I feel better than I did pre op. And people are amazed, but sometimes, I don't see what they see.

I have more energy overall.

I'm about a month ahead of you and Ican have everything. The only thing that makes me feel nauseaus is egg yolks, so I'm only having egg whites. Just got all my blood work done and everything is good, although I'm really tired and haven't been working out much this past week. Also, craving chocolate :(

I am just over 3 months out. I can eat most things. I had some stuffed chicken that was dry and another time a piece of a crescent roll; both of them made me nauseous. I have way more energy than before. My hair is starting to thin. :(

I will be 3 months November 22. I can relate with the grocery store! Shopping is torture. Nothing looks good, so I'm eating the same things over and over. I have been on a major seafood kick. It really has been the few things that agree with me. A lot of talapia, shrimp, tuna, and crab. chicken is hard to eat. So is some beef. I am still completely staying away from junk food and carbs. Feeling pretty darn good! I also walk 5-6 times a week. No Hair loss as of yet.....

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
