AmyC65- I agree with you totally. I don't necessarily have a weight/size in mind, just several small victories. Being able to buy a t-shirt in a normal store is top of the list. Of course, I started this journey at a 4x and am only 11 days post op. I haven't weighed myself since pre-op but I can't wait to feel better and be able to buy clothes at a normal store and not a specialty store!

I did not have a goal size, just a goal weight, which I have reached, but more importantly, a goal level of health. I wanted to get off my blood pressure meds (done), see improvements in my sleep apnea and overall sleep quality (done), and reduce my risk of developing diabetes (glucose is normal). Over the last 9 months, I have gone from a size 20 to a size 4-6 at 5'8". I figured that was a small bonus, since I am healthier than I have been for a very long time.

I feel the same as most of you. My surgery is scheduled for 12/15.I'm looking forward to not having to shop in the plus size section anymore. I'm currently 5'4.5 and 280 (I've never shared that before ????) and I'm between 20/22 bottom and 18 top. Very curvy! I can't wait to be able to climb stairs without getting winded or the being able to buckle my seatbelt without having to move my butt over!

Single digits would be glorious but we'll see what happens. Good luck to all of u with upcoming dates and congrats on those who have already started the journey!

Hi! I am 5'10", and I weigh 218. I'm 9 weeks post op, and have lost 45 pounds. I currently wear a size 16! I was able able to buy jeans at the Gap! I keeping making small goals. My current goal is to reach "onederland" by the new year. I was thrilled to fit into a regular size! My goal weight is 165, which I weighed in my 30's. That will put me at a BMI of 25. I think my size will be a 10 or 12. It's so inspiring to read each of your stories. Thank you all, and Happy Thanksgiving!

Current 297 size 22/3x. 5'tall. I would like to be a size 6/8. I've never been much smaller than that and with my frame I think I would look silly if I were much smaller. Although if a size 4 doesn't make me look like a bobble head doll ???? then I'm cool with that too.

I don't have a size in mind I am about 2.5 months out & I am down 52 pounds so far. I got a pair of 12's the other day - I didn't even try them on just got them & tried them when I got home I was so shocked when they just went right on. I was 278 pounds in 2012 after having my son, 245 at the beginning of my process with the Bariatric Clinc, 231 at surgery & currently 190. I am only 5'5" and my frame is too large to get to small but I was about 160 pounds in high school & I was a size 6. My goal is to get to 148, I am losing inches but my weight isn't dropping as fast as I would like. So I guess just to be healthier & fitter than I have been in years so I will stick with healthy eating & working out!

I'm 5'6 and started at 291 and size 24-26. I am now a 12/14, sometimes a 10. I look at myself and don't know who it is! I'm having skin removal and abdominal wall reconstruction next month, so it's likely I'll be a 10. I weigh 158 now and if this is the end of weight loss, I'm great!!!

im also having abdominalplasty on December 31st. Congrats to you.

I'm 5'11" and currently 303. At my highest I was 323 so I'm down 20 pounds so far (9 days post op). I wear a 22/24. I will be thrilled if I get down to 200 but to be in my "ideal weight" zone I need to get down to 175. As far as size, maybe 12/14? I am tall and big boned so I can't imagine myself ever being in single digits.

It's not unrealistic to be in single digit sizing. I'm 6' and can wear most anything in a size 8, and some jeans and pants in a 6.

I'm 6' and I will be happy in a 10, 12, 14 ish...... I figure I need to be around 175ish for that. My mom is a bit taller than me and she wears a 16 at 220ish.

I have a few months to wait before surgery, so my ideas may change as I start losing the weight.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
