I'm just a little over 2 weeks out. Should I not put ore than 1/2 cup in my pouch at once?

Brown eyed gal,

I'm 23 days out and I still have problems getting in a 1/4 cup at a meal. According to my plan

I'm supposed to be getting in 3 meals of pureed Protein, 2 Protein shakes and another Protein

snack. I only get in 2 pureed Proteins and maybe a shake and a half in a day. From what a lot of others on here have told me you just do the best that you can getting it in. Don't push yourself to get it in. Start with your Vitamins and Water and work the rest in. So that's what I've been

doing. I've been overweight most of my life and I'm not going to ruin this tool that I've been

lucky enough to get by trying to get in all that they want me to. Don't want to stretch out the

new stomach that you have.

my doctor recommended no more than 2.5 to 4 ozs and I seem to be tolerating about 3 ozs. I am two months since my surgery.

Wondering if that's part of the problem I've been having if I put into many ounces but my body didn't really tell me not to. It hurts when I eat yogurt or applesauce so I'm gonna have to talk to dr????

I also have a hard time figuring out the amount of food at each meal. I've pretty much settled on about 4 oz. or so (sometimes less) per meal and I eat 3 meals per day and no snack. Although, since rejoining a gym this week I started to take in a bit more Protein in the morning by adding a scoop to a cup of Decaf coffee around 6:30 then I have a Protein Breakfast around 8:30-9. As far as lunch and dinner I usually weigh out about 2.5-3 oz. of lean meat then eat another ounce of veggies and berries combined. This has been my regimen for the past 4 months.

Right or wrong, it's worked pretty good for me so far so I plan on sticking to it for a few more months.

Best of luck!

I'm 10 days post op and I never have had the full feeling. I can eat 5oz of Greek yogurt and then some? Is that.bad?

In my opinion what you are experiencing is normal. Early out I was able to eat a lot and never had full feeling. It is important to watch your calorie intake, you do not wanna go over whatever your doctor recommended for you.

My surgeon is very liberal with diet recommendations and guidlines, I was on soft/pureed 5 days out, and started solids (well chewed) 10 days out. I was super hungry and soooo ready to chew and eat real meal. So when I started to eat solids I still did not have full feeling, I had to measure my food as I did not want to strech my tool.

Full feeling came back around 5-6 weeks out. Now my restriction is amazing. Your tummy needs time to heal and the nerves has to heal too, it takes time, but you will be fine, careful now, and everything will work out!

Well done, I wish I could do as well as you but I am still a sucker for carbs and can't go without them. Your diet looks just about right and you will be very successful if you keep it up!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
