I was sleeved on 10-14 and I've only lost 20 lbs since I started with the pre opt liquid diet. Is this normal? I haven't lost any lbs these last couple of weeks? Also I wasn't one to be cold I was always hot but lately I've been cold all the time. Is this normal?

I don't remember being any colder than usual during my pre-op diet, however after I lost most of my weight I did notice that my body gets colder than it used to. I used to always blast the air conditioner, now I'm the first one to complain I'm cold. I think a lot of the issue is that since we're eating less, our Iron gets lower which makes it harder to stay warm.

I would double check this with your nutritionist because I am NOT by any means an expert or in the medical field, but you may consider taking a multi-Vitamin like optisource or some Iron pills. When I stopped taking my supplements regularly, I did get colder than when I didn't

I've definitely been colder since having the surgery! I'm 5 weeks out.

It's normal. It take quite awhile for your body to get used to the new weight. I am 10 months out and still always cold. I actually bought some "long underwear" tops and bottoms to wear under my clothes to work.

I recently added a second comforter to my side of the bed! I get so cold at night, I wake up shaking. I mentioned this to a friend of mine, who happens to be a pro MMA fighter. He said when he's cutting weight before a fight (which can involve dropping 10 lbs in a weekend) he's cold too. And basically, what we are doing is similar to an extended weight-cutting. All that to say, I think it's a fairly common problem.

If you are in a fat burning state, you tend to be a bit colder. I imagine it is a combo of loosing weight, and being in ketosis. :) it's a good thing!

My nose is like an ice cube now!!!!

My kids are making fun of it, it is that cold!!! Why the nose ?

Also, I'm just constantly cold now. This weekend my husband added a wall heater to my bedroom by my bed for me.

He said he is going to sleeping naked on the floor if this continues... Lol

Yep cold. I'm enjoying it since I was getting tired of the menopausal hoy flashes.

I put a second comforter on my bed today. I am so cold. Right now I have on a tank top, a pullover hoodie shirt and a jacket. Not much fits anymore so I have to make do with what fits.

I'm 6 weeks out today and down 27.3 lbs from surgery and a total from my high weight of 50

Same here - cold most of the time. It's really a change for me, I was my own weather system (hot flashes).

99% of my clothes were short-sleeve...all winter long (in New England). The mere thought of wearing a sweatshirt or a sweater would induce a hot flash. Now I have long sleeves, and layer up. Curl up in a fleece in the evening...it's just so weird to me.

I almost miss the hot flashes! :P

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
