Calling January Sleever????

Recommended Posts

Today and yesterday I am extremely tired and slow. I am day 8 of my preop diet. I have followed this diet very well. It could be that I've switched to Decaf coffee and the weather is so cold here. 4 days left. I so wish it was here!!! Ready to start this journey!!!

Are you taking Vitamins or started your Vitamin regimen for post op? I'm taking all the post op vitamins and I have been fine. Just a thought :)

I had my surgery on jan. 5, 2014. Got to the hospital at 6:00am for surgery prep. So far so good! Into OR, I was greeted by all. It was a delight to have everyone say that they would take good care of me. Then it was slumber time.... I woke up in the recovery room. Dr. Hahn was there and told me that along with the sleeve he had to perform a hiatal hernia repair and do a liver biopsy...Good job!

In my private room. IV for pain and another for liquids were all hooked up. Meet with the nursing staff that would be checking my vitals etc.. For the next two days.

The pain wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Although I kept pushing the IV for pain. A total of 5 incisions. The largest one (about 1 inch) on my right side. It hurt the most. I couldn't even feel the others. Dr. Hahn came to see me more than a few times. I kept asking him all the questions I could think of. He answered and explained them all. He was great!!!

I did a lot of sleeping!

Dr. Hahn and the hospital staff told me that I was doing very well. No vomiting or nausea. Drinking my fluids and meds. Saw Dr. Hahn one last time to make sure that I understood all the instructions and got all my prescriptions to take home for pain. I was ready to go home...I went home at 6:00 pm on jan. 6.

I'm home now and in my own bed. More to come at later time....

My date is January 12th. I was only told to do pre op diet 7 days before surgery. It hasn't been that bad. I think it's because I'm so excited for my surgery. Good Luck everyone!

Made it to the Marriott in TJ. Had a rough start this morning with first flight delayed then missed connecting flight. Great thing is that the driver was there to pick us up and everything has gone smoothly since then. The Marriott is nice and very comfy. Surgery is tomorrow. Yippee. So excited! Good luck to all of you. See you on the other side.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
