4 weeks out...eating too much?

Recommended Posts

I can eat a whole egg with a sprinkle of cheese for Breakfast. lunch is a Protein shake. And dinner say half a can of salmon with mayo and a slice of avocado. I'm sure this is between 500-600 calories a day. During the liquid phase I was having 320 calories a day and felt faint a few times.

Some people say they are stuffed after 2-3 bites or want to vomit. But I dont.

We do need some calories...right?

That doesn't sound like too much to me. In fact, it may be too little pretty soon. My daily calories hover between 700-1000, my Protein 70-100 grams, and my fluids 70-100 ounces. (Wow, I just noticed that all my ranges look the same!) It seems to be working. I feel good and have lost 80 pounds in four months. Good luck, you'll figure it out.

Sounds good to me too.

I was eating about that much 4 weeks out. I can remember having the same question... Is this too much. No.... You'll see once you start eating more dense foods your capacity will change depending on the foods. Hang in there. I'm 8.5 weeks and i'm delighted with the amount of foods i can eat and how much healthier i feel.

Welcome to the loosers bench.

I can have about 3 cups of creamy and mushy Soups a day. 1 cup at a time. 2 puddings. 2 jellos and 2 Popsicles. I'm even ok eating a whole oatmeal but that takes me about 30 min

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
