I am curious to know what everyone PRE sleeve is doing for exercise. There's not a lot that I can do that doesn't cause me alot of pain and discomfort. Any suggestions?????

just a brief lil history:

I've had 1 open heart surgery, 3 back surgeries, broke my foot 3 times in 1 year so they had to put a screw and wire in my foot to keep it from breaking again and 4 knee surgeries( 2 on each knee).

HELP!!!!!

Youtube should be your new best friend. I have been able to purchase a variety of chair aerobics by David Stamps and a few others, but several people have exercise programs for those of with mobility and pain issues online. Chair Boxing is my favorite.

My doc suggested walking - she called it the best medicine. But with your pain, I'm thinking Water, to alleviate the stress...walking in the pool? I believe in being in the best shape you are able to get into prior to surgery to assist in the recovery process.

Packerfan61964 I was given suggestions such as sit and be fit by Maryann Wilson on pbs on in my area at 530 am but record it also as miss mac said u tube has many videos for gentle exercises also sparkpeople.com will send emails with sample of what to do with photos and has videos as well lots seem like they are geared toward elderly but some of us have mobility issues due to weight or other things so it will work for limitations good luck

I agree that walking is probably the best. I have noticed the heavier I've gotten over the past 2 years, the worse it has gotten. I guess I will have to invest in an ice machine and a few more heating pads and just man up and do it and get this weight off!!

I got one of the peddlers (the kind people put under their desks and peddle with their feet) and peddle with my hands when I watch TV. I was doing Water aerobics until early this month when the weather changed.

Swim. Next best cardio exercise to running. No pain on the joints and works the whole body. Water aerobics is also great for people in your situation. Hand weights and exercise bands are also things you can do in a chair. Good luck to you.

I have a gym with heated pool. I getin it in shallow end and jog to the other side and I go to the deep end and frog leg swim and do my arms under the Water . No pain and after 20 min you will be breathing hard. It's a workout !

I have baby injuries and rolled my ankles several times and just walking hurts me so the pool is my best option! A great investment. And any circuit weights you can do will burn more fat. When my hips out I do my arms back and abs and when my elbows out I work on lower body etc. using weights doesn't hurt me and u see list if results !

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
