November Surgery Dates Anyone? Let's Connect!

Recommended Posts

So many people have there's in November. It will be such a great support network. I'm getting a little nervous this morning as I get ready.

I have to juggle dropping my boys off at school then driving an hour and half for check in. I hope I get everything packed. Two nights in the hospital. I was really hoping for one. But that's how it goes.

Just saw my surgeon for the last time until my surgery on the 18th. She gave me the pre-op diet sheet which includes more food than I thought there would be. Unlimited raw vegetables (certain ones), dill pickles on top of the liquids. I couldn't believe how much was on the list that I could have. This is going to be much easier than I thought. No full liquid diet until after surgery.

Ok I'm finally awake enough to post. Surgery went well. Just took forever to get to surgery. Blood pressure was a problem so they pumped me with pills. Pain is tolerable. Not sure if it's because of pain pills or not though. Hardest part is I have not drank anything in over 24 hrs.

Congrats on your successful surgery! I'm starting to get terrified again! Mine's Thursday. ????

Congratulations to all of you who have already had your surgery this month! Here it is only the 4th and several of you have already blazed the trail for the rest of us. Hope all is going well for you. I'd love to hear how you are going and also if you have any advice for the rest of us.

I had my final preop appt today and I would be lying if I said I wasn't scared! My husband went too which was nice because now he also knows a little more what to expect and how to support me. My doctor is incredibly sweet though and didn't make me feel stupid at all for asking questions. I guess I am as prepared as I can get, now I just need to distract myself for the next 5 days so the time goes by quickly and I don't have too much more time to think about things.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
