Surgery Nov. 10th. Question about liquid diet.

Recommended Posts

Hey all,

I'm scheduled to be sleeved Nov. 10th. How long before surgery did you start your liquid diet? My nutrionalist said 2 weeks. Protien shakes and a lean cuisine meal at dinner if I choose or just protien shakes. I did Optifast for 18 weeks of my year diet required by my insurance. My surgeon said 7 to 10 days on the liquid diet. Just wanted to see what others were told or recommend. Thanks and good luck to everyone. ...it's getting close. If anyone is looking for a surgery buddy I could use one. Would be nice to chat by email or even text if anyone is nervous as me. Strength in numbers right?

I'm also getting sleeved on 11/10! I have a two week "liquid" diet prior to surgery. I'm supposed to replace all meals with a Protein shake, but I can also have really thinned out oatmeal and cream of wheat, strained 98% fat free cream based Soups, sugar free applesauce, sugar free pudding and sugar free popsicles. Bad thing is I have to start the last day of a trip I'm going on in a week and a half! That should be fun!!

My surgery date is 11/10 also! I just found out yesterday at my last pre-op appointment.

I'm so excited and nervous...but more excited to begin this journey.

I start my liquid diet on 10/28, it is roughly a 2 week diet. All high Protein drinks, sugar

free Popsicles, sugar free Jello...an occasional salad with light vinaigrette...those sorts

of things.

I'm on Facebook if you'd like to connect there! Let me know.

I will be sleeved on October 28th. I started my pre surgery diet today. I need to eat 4 oz of meat, salad veggies, sugar free, caffeine free, and carbonation free, a few Protein Shakes per day. I'm also allowed low fat dressing, low fat cheese, and eggs.

No-one all liquid for me, just high Protein and veggies for 2 weeks before, mostly liquids the day before and nothing after 5pm the day before surgery

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
