I'm still in the hospital. They ended up having to do my surgery open, so it looks like I have to stay here a couple extra days. I'm still in quite a bit of pain. No fun at all. I am able to drink 1 ounce of Water every hour.

My date was the 29th and I'm 2days post, but still in hospital. The first set of pain meds made me sick. I'm curious because where I had surgery they tell you to be on liquids 3 weeks after, but it seems like most people on here didn't have to wait that long. How long were you told to so liquids?

Hey all, been off for a few days. Yesterday was my first day on soft solids which is pretty much our life long diet besides waiting a few more weeks until we could introduce raw veggies and more meat. Hamburger didn't go down well for me, it could have been a bit too dry so I will have to try that again later. I had 1/2 C of chicken chewed really well with 1/4C of mashed potatoes yesterday. That went down so well and was heavenly! I broke my stall and have gone down 3 lbs so far, will weigh again next Friday. I start work on Monday (CNA and heavy lifting). Today I'm taking my kids trick or treating so I will be walking quite a bit. Congrats to the folks who made it o I t of Surgery this last week, may healing be speedy and uneventful. Today is the last day of October surgeries! We all did it! Blessings going out to Layknee and Bronxmerci that they have a very, Very uneventful November and future as they have been struggling.

Oh goodness, why did they have to do it open?? Take the extra time in the hospital to rest up well before you go home! I bet you are in more pain than expected. Darn it! Sip sip sip that water!! ;-)

I see people posting about having staples removed. I had rny & they told me I have staples & stitches & I'll have them for life. I'm confused, are other people having staples removed also?

@@brown eyed gal I had my staples removed today. 14 of them!

I talked to my doc, area is still sore, they think it is just muscle healing pulling, as I am passing gas, pooping and drinking eating fine. I think my increased activity caused it.

worked 8 hours, spent three more with my son, now showering and off to boyfriends. Happy day!

Hope everyone else is continuing to heal well, and if you are struggling, hopefully you will feel better soon.

Trying to get liquids down is a full time job. I can get maybe 8-16 ounces a day. Haven't had my vits for a few days. I have to get back on track. I have no idea how I will go back to work in 10 days.

We'll work on it together! I'm avg 20-30 ounces/day of Fluid if puréed foods don't count! I'm discouraged on that front.

Guys! I am now 23 days post op, RNY, and back at work(desk). I'm starting to get slight pain on the upper right incision. I only feel it after I have been wearing PANTS/jeans. Maybe the compression from them is bothering my insides. I am on pureed foods and have been walking and lightly jogging about 2-3 miles a day. It's like a fluttering pain. Like a giant butterfly hates my insides. Anyone else??

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
