anyone getting sleeved in DECEMBER?

Recommended Posts

At Baylor Hospital in Plano there is a support group that meets every 2nd Wednesday. They gave a clothes swap from 6-630, and then the meeting starts at 630. I'm going to the one tonight. I was sleeved last Monday, good luck December sleevers.

It looks like I'll be getting sleeved the first part of December as well. They submit to insurance after my final nut appointment on the 22nd. The coordinator said it takes 204 weeks to hear back from insurance then it's 2-3 weeks until surgery takes place. Thanksgiving was going to be my biggest hurdle. I am keeping very quiet about the surgery just because that's the way I am and I didn't want to deal with all the questions over Thanksgiving dinner. I'm not worried about Christmas because it's done in a casual buffet style where nobody pays attention to what anyone else is eating or not eating.

I had my EGD on Wednesday and was submitted to UHC a week ago today. Hoping for December!

I've done all my pre surgery appts and edg. Now I'm just waiting on insurance approval. I'm hoping for November or December surgery.

Ky89 and Cinamini1, I will be sleeved in TJ on December 16th. I am literally counting down the days on my calendar. Who is doing your surgery?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
