Hi all, had my op at 3pm yesterday. All went well, quite a lot of pain, but once they got it under control felt much better. Got push button pain relief to self administer so that was great. I felt a real heavyness across my chest which they said is normal and has eased off overnight and this morning. Also allowed to have ice, but just take tiny bits at a time otherwise the heavyness across the chest is intensified, but not too bad, just a warning to take it slow and small. Hope everyone is feeling well and good luck today for those getting it done today. Remember no pain no gain!!!

Hey everyone, I was sleeved at 9:30 this morning everthing went very well. I remember going into the operating room but only I was only awake for a few minutes. I had to have a hitial hernia repair as well.

When I woke up from surgery the gas pain in my chest was at a level of 5 or 6. I was given pain medication, when i got to my room from recovery I was ready to walk :). I put my pajamas on and I walked and I'm no longer experiencing gas pains and that's so awesome. I've been increasing my walking time a little at a time. I'm up to 5 laps on my hospital floor.

As far as resting, I've been resting pretty well. Nurses are constantly in but their awesome! I have my chest x-ray and leak test in the morning. After that I'll start my clear liquid diet. Guys I'm so glad I don't feel hungry.

I know there are a lot of people getting sleeved on Wednesday, October 8th. I wish you all the best and a speedy recovery!

Hi! Had mu surgery yesterday morning and all is well! Pain is manageable, but like others have said, the gas pains/nausea is the harder part. All in all, it's not as bad as I anticipated. I'll be starting liquids as soon as the sleeve test results coming through.?

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
