I am losing hair and I certainly have not lost anywhere close to what Wasabubble has lost. I have complained time and time again that I exercise daily and watch what I eat, and I am not losing weight. So her theory of why some people lose hair not being related to weight loss sounds
logical to me. Anyone who is not losing hair is lucky. I started taking Biotin
immediately because everyone on here suggested it to me, to prevent Hair loss.
If I could eat 600 calories a day and not give in to head hunger or my stomach growling, I would do it. The foods I eat are healthy, but for me it's hard to maintain 800-1,000 calories a day.

wasabubblebutt,

Thanks for the information. I enjoy reading your posts, I always can learn something from them. Even if it is something that I knew but maybe forgot about, I usually come away from your posts well informed. Thanks for taking the time and effort!

I would like to speak on behalf of the comment made to ME from Wassa... "If I can lost 70 lbs in 5 mos, anyone can."

I merely took this as a form of encouragement and not a guild line I have to follow for my own journey. I am an individual and as an individual... I will be making my own journey into this new world.

Kitty....

Thank you. That is how I intended my comment, not a guideline but encouragement. Some people can lose huge amounts of weight but not keep it off. I could only lose small amounts of weight (without a band) and I couldn't even keep small amounts off. Thus my comment, If I can do it anyone can. Will power and food have never been my strong points.

The band makes a mega huge difference.

Thanks again!

An esophogram isn't going to show if adhesions are forming and what long term issues will be. It shows something completely different.

I beg to differ...I am a retired X-ray technologist and an Esophagram WILL visualize the entire length of the esophagus, INCLUDING the distal portion that inserts into the stomach. During fluoroscopy, the radiologist will visualize the superior portion of the stomach where the fundus has been sutured to the esophagus. If this area is inflammed or if the band has slipped, the doctor will be able to determine this during the procedure. He may or may not be able to "see" any adhesions "per se" but, if you have them, he should be able to tell based on the movement of the barium you drink.

Peace Out!

WABB, it's no coincidence that wherever there's a disagreement on this website, you are often involved, often elbow-deep in the crud. It comes as no surprise that you encountered problems on another lapband mesage board, as well.

Perhaps you need to realize that you are often the common denominator in the "drama." A bit of self-reflection might serve you well.

Have a great weekend!

Hello!

I had my surgery on 5/7 and I just started "soft" food this week and you are right. I feel like I can eat quite a bit but I don't do it. I stay in the 1/4 - 1/2 cup per serving as perscribed. I have lost 26 pounds and I feel good.Talk to your dietician for some direction.I had a lot of questions and they are great.Good Luck to you!

Syrah!! Back off!! I think most of us learn a lot from WABB and look forward to and search out her posts. To have to wade through a lot of negativity and cheap shots is discouraging and certainly not the reason I believe we participate in this forum at all. I for one am here to learn and share so puuuullllleeez lighten up.

Susie,

In Syrah's defense, I don't think you have spent enough time reviewing all of WABB's posts....

Peace Out!

Susie313, Where do you live? We got banded by Dr. T. almost a month apart!

I need to reasearch your posts to see what I can find out. I am wondering how your'e doing, weight loss wise, and how many fills you have had, etc.

I am scheduled for my 3rd fill next week.

Hello Denise822,

I live about 2.5 hours south of Coos Bay. My first appt. with Dr. Tersigni was in June 2006, banded November 14th. I've lost 90 pounds so far and hopefully with yesterday's fill I will have finally hit the sweet spot. It's been quite a journey.

That's so fabulous! I haven't lost anywhere close to that. How is it possible that you were banded a month before me and have lost 60 more lbs. He says it's because I am in my 50's and I started with a lower bmi. I would be so happy if I could lose 30 more lbs. !!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well. I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening. So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this?? Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
