Sounds so great! I would have never lost 21 lbs in three weeks without the sleeve. Congrats!

I've lost 21 LBS! Is that good? I dunno

Me too...lol I'm always in tank tops but now I want clothes. I'm eating pinches of egg whites and sips of Soup. It's so hard but I'm extremely full. I don't know if things will change once the stomach is no longer sore.

I have to say it was quite the experience for me, I am feeling mediocre on the Full liquid diet which I will be on until my next surgeon appointment which is three weeks away, so a total of 4 weeks liquid diet I am trying to persevere through as positively as possible !!

Hoping that all our healing goes well !!

My new years resolution is to be fit, happy and healthy !

Wish all of you the best ! and if anyone else is in the same phase as I and would like to chat please dont hesitate !! I would love to speak with American sleevers as well especially recently completed and veterans, see what differences / similarities in the advice from each surgeon and help and support we can give each other !!

Sorry for the long reply, hope to hear from you all !

To a sexy, happy lifestyle for all in the new year !!

@@Ozman I, too, am on 4 weeks of liquids post op, and also did 2 weeks of liquids pre-op ???? it is the pits but I'm sticking to it!! Soooo ready for some food. Two more weeks for me! I woke up around day 12 and felt amazing - now all that's left is slight soreness and a little bit of itching around my incisions. I had a hard time with surgery, though - it was pretty bad ???? but, mostly all better now! Where are you and who was your doctor? How did your surgery go? ????

Surgery was a breeze for me, I am finding myself having a harder time on the Protein Shakes / Isopure than anything else...

I'm 19 days post-op and am doing really good. I did 1 week clear liquid and 1 week full liquid post-op. Then I did 2 days pureed foods and couldn't take it. I then started regular foods and just chews up really good. No problems at all. I've been walking about 15-20 min 5 days a week and just started increasing my speed. I've also been lifting weights (10-15) lbs. Arms only, no core exercises at all. Then 2 days ago I did 10 squats, lifted a heavy trash bag and it didn't hurt at all, but something I did pulled something in my large incision. It hurts so much and at odd times. Just a twist of my waist, walking downstairs or learning over. I haven't called the drs. Office, but was wondering if Anyone else experienced this kind of pain and how long it takes to heal. I can't stand to just sit still..I got things to do. :)

Follow up... I called the drs. Office today. They said that anytime you start a new/different regimen or exercise that the incision area is going to hurt some. Not sure I believe all that.. What's your experience? BTW: I started taking Tylenol and it does help.

Hi everyone,

I was sleeved on November 14, 2014 and am new to this site. Like you all seem to be, I am curious as to how others are making out. For me, the surgery itself was easier than I had expected but starting on real food seems to be more of a challenge than I had thought.

Having a really hard time getting in my Protein and Water and taking my Vitamins seems to bother my stomach as well. My hope is that with time, this will get easier.

I had to do 2 weeks on boost pre-op then 2 weeks on liquid and 2 weeks full liquid post-op.

Down 30lbs since starting the boost. :)

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
