I just received my samples of Unjury Protein. I bought one of each sample they had. Tonight I tried the vanilla... it says to mix it with milk, soy milk, coffee, or any of your favorite beverage. Well since I'm on my pre op diet I decided to mix it with Water - it wasn't great at all. As a matter of fact, it was pretty bad. I've been told that Unjury is pretty good. Does anyone know if I should have mixed it with the milk??

Any advise on protein is helpful. I get banded in just a couple of days and I'm trying to see what I like best.

Bleh. I wouldn't mix any of the powders w/just Water. I got the Unjury samples and have mixed them with 60-cal no sugar pudding (when you mix it it becomes runny like pudding Soup, but still tasty) and in a smoothie... couldn't tell at all. For the liquid stage, I'd suggest the Isopure drinks w/40 g Protein in a bottle... the only one I've tried so far is the orange, and it was pretty good... a bit of an aftertaste, but ok. I've also tried the Micellar milk w/low-carb chai tea and that was good... a chai-tea latte w/lots of protein. The bariatriceating.com site has a variety pack w/recipes, you could check that out. It's a very personal thing, the whole protein powder/drink thing... good luck figuring out what works for you!

For the most part I use unjury. I mix 1 scoop with 1 cup of skim milk...and throw it in the blender to avoid clumps...

Very rarely do I drink it with just powder and milk...

I normally add fruit to the vanilla... or a dash of cinnamon (kinda tastes like a cinnamon bun), or my fav. is to mix 1 scoop of vanilla with 1 cup of flat diet orange soda... tastes like a creamcicle.. yum.

With the chocolate I add a half banana and sometimes a little Peanut Butter.

Also from time to time I use the unflavored in my crystal light.

if you go to www.unjury.com they have a recipe page...

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
