Sleevers 22 September - 28 September - Check in

Here's what I don't understand. I've read a lot of posts on gas pain and yet my doctor's office didn't really bring it up as an issue. I even asked in my pre-op class and they just said no one complains about it. So on surgery day when my surgeon came by to see if I had any questions, I asked about gas. He said that it shouldn't be an issue because they extract the gas out when they're finished. And by golly, no gas pains for me. So why don't all doctor's do this? It's clearly causing a lot of pain.

I agree! My doctor also removed the gas. I had no gas pains. I would like to see everyone getting surgery demand that this is done. It's unnecessary to have this pain.

My gas is not from the surgery, it is more in the GI tract.

How's everyone doing?

I lost 7.5lbs the first week which is probably a record for me. Didn't exercise at all the first week because I was tired and did have some pain I was dealing with. I've been laying around binge-watching The Tudors. I did take a short walk today and am going to try to ease back into a routine.

I'm starting to struggle with the food demons. Thinking of all the foods that I want to eat (despite not being hungry at all) and I suddenly really want a Diet Pepsi. I drank caffeine-free before so I know it's not caffeine withdrawal. Just a bad habit that doesn't want to leave quietly.

Tomorrow is my post op appt with my surgeon!! I'm excited to see what their scale says, mine says down 14 lbs since surgery. I'm feeling so much better since moving to full liquids. Today I made homemade cream of cauliflower Soup. It's so good even if I can only eat 2 ounces ????????

I couldn't agree more. A few days ago, I went for a 10 minute walk and it kicked my butt. I was weak, shaky, out of breath, etc. Today I went for a walk and only stopped at 20 minutes because it was raining. I felt great after my walk today. I'm also feel less preoccupied by thoughts of food. It's not really bothering me anymore. Just try to get my fluids and Protein shakes and getting joy out of seeing the number on the scale drop.

I was sleeved on the 25th! I too had horrible gas pains and buyers remorse! I am starting to feel hungry and am on the full liquid diet for the next 2 weeks. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can eat that would satisfy my hunger ? Congrats to all the sleevers! We are in this together ❤️

I had surgery Friday, Sept. 26th. I've been enjoying a case of Progresso New England clam chowder, and a case of their small cans of chicken bouillon. I mix one can of each until it's boiling, then strain out the potato chunks. Put it in the blender and pour into a bowl. If you want to make it a Protein drink/soup, measure out one cup of the Soup back into the blender and add 1 scoop of powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury chicken soup Protein powder. Delicious--- especially that it's hot and salty. Hits the spot.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
