This is my first post, but I've been reading this forum for a couple weeks now. I'm submitted all my paperwork and had the tests that my surgeons office requires. I'm using Dr. John Baker in Little Rock, AR. I have Aetna insurance, and from alot of the posts I've read, I'm alittle dishearted. I'm 44, my BMI is 37 to 38, but, I have co-morbidities, heart disease, diabetes, hypertension, high cholestrol. I've fought being overweight for several years. I did turn in 5 years weights, and have letters from my heart doctor and primary care physican. I have been logging in at the gym I attend regularly since Febuary and have documentation from my dietican on our visits. I honestly can't think of anything they would need.

My daughter had the lap band done January 2006, and she has lost 152 pounds so far. Her experience has been text book all the way. She was 16 when she had it done, and she has a whole new attitude on life now. It did indead change her entire life for the better.

So, I'm looking so forward to getting mine done. Even if the insurance does deny me, I'm still having it done, I'll just self pay.

So, I wish all of you the best of luck, and I look forward to reading all your posts. Your all such inspirations.

Thanks,

Lisa

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
