I got my first fill on Thursday. They used the fluoroscopy . My band was primed at 2cc and then he added 2 cc. I have been eating Soup and Protein Shakes since then and have been unable to eat any solid food. After my second bite I get an instant pain in my chest and either throw it up or wait till it passes. Am I too tight or is it too early to tell?

Take smaller bites, chew your food to a cream Soup consistency and slow down. If you can eat Soups and not get stuck, you can eat solid food if you follow the rules.

We are all so different and then our surgeons have different methods -- for me (only me) it takes about a week post-fill to know where I am. Good luck to you -- way to go with the really listening into the body. That's what it's all about.

I get stuck on Soup as well. I can just take several bites before hand. Sorry I should have clarified.

I actually did much better at dinner but i just had puréed. I feel like I can't eat anything cold if that makes any sense? It may just be in my head lol and I have to sip my Water as well so I think that is apart of my issue. I really focus when I eat and take small bites and chew really well, but I don't have that focus when I drink and if I take a gulp it's not a good feeling to say the least.

You're too tight imo. We see many posts like yours where people react days or weeks later with a tightening of the tissue around the band. My last fill took 3-7 days to finally settle in with more restriction.

After a full I thought you were to do clear fluids for a few days and then introduce foods again starting with puréed then mushy

My surgeon says the rest of the day liquids. The next day purée. Then 1 day of mushie, then regular food.< /p>

Something I've learned about my band.... I will not be able to eat solids (sometimes all day) unless I start my day with a hot drink. I've never been a drinker of hot things, but since the band I have grown to really like hot tea. I start every day with a 20oz. mug of hot tea and I'm in good shape. I still have to follow ALL the band rules for eating, but at least I'm not getting stuck. Good luck. I hope you are able to figure out a good routine for you. :)

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
