Hi AuriP, so happy to hear from you and that you are doing well. Tomorrow, home for some well deserved R&R. Yeh, anesthesia makes you sick. Normal! Please keep us in the loop we are thinking of you. We care, your fight is our fight.

I'm feeling much better today about my "worst day ever." Worked through every single detail. Called Psy office and was finally able to get the report faxed. The bariatric doctor's office is supposed to fax all of my paperwork "as is" to insurance. I will follow through Monday and if any thing else is required, well, I'll work through that as well. I AM UNSTOPPABLE! It was just too much at once yesterday.

@@Beni oh I'm so glad you're doing better! It's all so stressful. I guess everyone has a "moment" with all that has to be done. So now it's the weekend. Relax and enjoy if you can!

Yep, us gladiators need to keep strong to fight another day. We all have battles in our lives. But I feel like this is the battle of all battles. Giving up is not an option. Failure is not an option!

I plan on resting and enjoying this weekend. The weather is changing and this is a beautiful season.

They had to change my pain mess because the stuff I was on was not helping. Plus they are giving me a muscle relaxant at midnight. Man that revision sure hurt, I'm sure the increased amount of pain I have is due to the removal then revision. Now on to pass gas, I've been doing good with my liquids and no nausea since they got rid so my pcc (self dosed pain meds) I'm hoping all works out for you Beni.

I got all my walks in today. Since I can have pain meds more frequently. Honestly for me nausea is worse than pain. I am getting better for sure. Thanks for the well wishes. While I freaked out last night about what I did to myself, I am much happier right now. I'm sure I will be firm in my happiness once I can eat normal foods again. Glad that will happen before I start work again.

So on to my stats. When I came into the hospital I weighed in at 242.9 lb s (8 pounds down from my starting weight) My neck was :15", left arm was 16", right arm: 15.5 "Bust: 46", natural waist : 40 " Belly button : 45", Hips:54", left leg 30.5" right leg : 31.5 ". Going to do this monthly to keep myself motivated. Also wanted to show other pre ops the type of progression I'm having. I'm 5'2" tall.

Congrat AuriP on getting your walks in. Just got caught up reading all the posts since Beni started this group. Lots of good tips.

Thanks Beni for starting this group it helps me keep focused on the long haul. No more struggling up steps, no more airplane seat extenders, no more buying clothes I really don't like just because they fit, no more giving excuses to get out of day trips that consist of walking more than 2 blocks, no more Cpap, no more Pre Diabetes & no more yo yo dieting & weight gain.

KarenAllen you got this .... You'll be home soon. October is a great month to finally win the battle!!

Great stats idea! I am going to do it the day before surgery. I'll also post a "before" pic. Like you, I'm 5'2" as well! My surgery is on October 15.

My pleasure Jyoyonomore. Love your screen name by the way. You see, you all are my support too and each others support in so many ways. Alex deserves all the credit for starting Bariatric Pal. No one I know up close and personal is obese. "No one knows my troubles" wasn't that a song. Then I though, all of us are going through this and we all need help. United we succeed. If we have a question, someone may know the answer, when we need to share, someone will "like"it and we get it because we know what we are going through. Your struggle is my/our struggle. And, lets not forget a group is ALWAYS more successful then an individual. Yes, one person can climb mount Everest alone but he/she will have a much better chance if he/she has a support team, don't you think?

Just wanted to let everyone know. There's a website that can bill your liquid vitamins and Protein to your insurance. Insurenutrition.com I am hoping this works out. They said they will fax the prescription to my doctor so I'll update you all when I hear more from them.

@Layknee@ I just called them about it last week. I'm supposed to get some type of confirmation from them soon. They also have a cream to help with scars and stretch marks. Beni, you know the song "Roar" by Katie Perry is like the perfect song for our struggles. It has uplifted me so much through this. I get to go home today, so far it's been a whirl wind of emotions, sad and scared about leaks and my altered body, joy that I will finally be successful at losing weight. Nervous of people's reactions once I go back to work. Nostalgia about how I now have to go buy some new things as very soon my clothing will be falling off of me.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
