Thanks angel

I am on my 4th week post surgery. Its hard for me to tell when I an full so I have been working hard not to eat too much but most of the time I have no appetite. I am currently on smooth foods and scheduled this week to meet with my doctor to transition to regular food. I return to work in two weeks for a total of six weeks. I have lost between 36 and 38 lbs since my first visit to doctor in August. I have no regrets my goal is to lose 150 lbs. I am looking forward to the future of losing being healthier and maintaining after I reach my goal. You have done extremely well. Its individuals like you that give me hope.

Great to hear how well everyone is doing! Everyone is sooo different. Tuesday will be 3 weeks and I have yet to weigh myself. Trying to wait until my one month (it will actually be 5 weeks) appointment with my surgeon. I've been doing well and am a little hesitant to move off of soft foods.

You guys are doing great. I'm 6 weeks out and have only lost about 24 lbs. I've been stalled for a while now. So discouraged. :(

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
