I'm glad you guys have posted solutions to Hair loss. I haven't experienced any yet, but I'm only four weeks post op. I'm going to look up those Vitamins to see. I figure it can't hurt! I've just switched to mushy foods, and it's way better than the Protein Shakes. Although I wish I had discovered Unjury earlier. I bought a sample pack last week and the chocolate Splendor is delicious! Just a heads up for those of you who will be heading into that Protein Shake phase. Everyone's tastes are different, but I really liked these.

I had mine done at UPenn by Dr. Williams. I can honestly say I LOVED my experience with them. I had zero issues and felt well treated by the hospital staff.

Let's get this party started!

I'm Alexis, from the New Jersey shore, sharing my house with a 5 year old Great Dane and two cats. I'll be 31 next month (August 18th for those inclined to give gifts laugh.gif ) and have been banded since February 3, 2003. I was banded in NYC at Lenox Hill Hospital by Dr. Marina Kurian. The hospital was great, Dr. Kurian is amazing, and my surgery went off without a hitch. I'm a restaurant manager and just love my job, as tiring as it is!

In October, I weighed 345lbs. Somehow managed to lose 25lbs before surgery, despite many, many last suppers at the likes of Wendy's and McDonald's. Yes, Virginia, I AM a fast food freak. Although, not so much anymore. As of my last doctor's visit on July 11, 2003, I weigh 259lbs. So, if you count from my highest weight, I've lost 86lbs. Went from a size 28 to a size 18 and I'm not nearly finished!

I just can't say how much this band has done for me. Simply put, it's given me my life back.

I am also from Philly I'm having mines done at hahnemann hospital by dr castellinos

My natural hair ladies, I need your help!

So I'm in or very close to month 3 post surgery and somewhat dreading it. This is the month that people seem to have noticed hair shed and loss. I'm vigilant and understand that I am not super woman and immune to what will be but I can't tell. I'm a natural with a big head of thick - ish hair. And I can't tell the difference between post surgery shed or my normal hair shedding. Naturalistas, could you tell a difference?

Hello guys and gals! I'm Rhonda from Chicago and I have my first appoint with my Surgeon July 6 and wish I could get sleeved July 7. I'm so ready to get my life back on a healthy road and wouldn't mind seeing them curves again too!

It seems like I'm having a food funeral wanting and craving everything. Even things I really don't indulge in like soda. It's like my head saying eat it all before you won't again.

I don't want to gain and then have to loose even more!

Did anyone else have this pre op?

Great thread- glad I found this one!

Well wishes to all????

I know what you mean. I've been partaking in a couple things or at least thinking about it even if I don't have it. I've been mulling over a sonic blast for couple weeks now lol. I really want to not want those things after surgery so having them now seems to make sense. We will be able to eat again. I'm personally not gonna have too many more food funerals, hopefully.

I don't want to have anymore food funerals! My main issue will be before and after ...the people closest to me; We meet to eat. I could never imagine not telling my "circle of trust " about my surgery though! We really say our opinions but keep it moving cause opinions are like a**holes.. Everyone will have them. My people know me if I want it I'm go get it or do it... Period! But I know if anything happened I would need them .. No shame ... See me next summer ..

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
