Question about birth control.

So I believe that the tipping scale to my weight from 150 to 220 in less than a year was due to depo provera. I took the birth control in my teens and stopped it in a year. Haven't been able to lose down in the 10 years since I gained it plus 30 lbs of my own doing. Since my husband and I aren't trying to have anymore kids right now and I don't take pills well (forget) I only have a few choices. My question is if you gained on something similar to depo provera or the thing in your arm, have you regained using the same birth control. I really want to prevent pregnancy for at least a year. Thanks!

I did gain on depo Provera. I took it for a year between kids. Then it took me 15 months to get pregnant.

Our solution was getting a vasectomy but we were done. I'd say the only temporary form of BC that does not affect weight and doesn't require taking a pill on time is the good old condom.

I love Nuva Ring. Works really well for me and only have to remember it once a month.

My second pregnancy was on Nuva Ring. After my MGB I had to go on Paraguard Copper IUD after my Mini pill stopped working. Waiting for hubby to have Vasectomy so I can stop it all.

5 days post-op revision from VSG to MGB. Back home, feeling great. No more gas pain. Only minor discomfort in the abdominals, rather like after having done a bunch of sit-ups. Definitely don't feel like eating anything. Don't even have the boredom hunger like I had before. Fluids are going down ok though so that's good. Going back to work tomorrow. Wish me luck.

I'm considering the gastric sleeve; however I have crohn's disease. I'm wondering if anyone with crohn's has had the surgery and can share their thoughts with me.

Behavioral modification is the key... I went to my first session of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and it was incredible! We talked about the purpose behind certain unwanted behaviors as all behavior is developed to serve a purpose, being ready, willing and able, thought mapping (finding the origin/pattern of thought that ultimately contributes to certain unwanted behaviors), and replacing one behavior with another that's as equally rewarding, if not more.

Hi, I’m scheduled for surgery on June, 24. I’m so excited, but nervous at the same time.
