Recommended Posts

I would like to know what everyone has for advise on Vitamins. The doc. office "recommended" fusion chewable, and I think that was 3 a day. I am having no problems with taking a pill so would like to find a one a day pill. Who's using what ?

Hey there....

This may sound funny but it was in my packet of info when I started this a year ago. The doc says in this booklet that kids chewables works too but then you have to get a Calcium to go with it. So I take my Flintstones everyday, the gummie ones and now I need to get a calcium. When I saw him this past Wednesday he said that was fine so ???? I had gone to GNC and gotten some chewable for women and OMG it was tooooo sweet for me it made me gag when I smelled it. So that was out and when I re-read my book I saw the suggestion so I jumped at Flintstones....lol

My nutritionist says I can't have any Gummy Vitamins after surgery. I bought some before I found out so I've been taking them just to use them up before surgery. I'm going to take Centrum chewables after the surgery, as well as Calcium plus Vitamin D and Vitamin B12.< /p>

I can't stand the smell when I open my vitamin bottle either so I've gotten in the habit of pointing the top of the bottle away from me when I open it. Seems to help a little bit.

I used chewables for the first few months for bigger pills, Centrum chewable multi, Citrical calcium chews several times per day, Biotin dissolavable, Iron, D3 and B12 chewables. After about 3 months when the chewables ran out, I just started buying the standard supplements at Walmart per the advice of my bariatric nurse coordinator who is a 13 year survivor of gastric bypass. Still take, D3, B12, Biotin, Calcium slow release and iron slow release iron in addition to the Multivitamin, but swallow them all now.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
