I'm having such a hard time getting 64 ounces of Fluid everyday. I'm 17 days out of surgery and getting fluids was the last thing I was worried about. I thought about getting a diet lemonade from chick fil a tomorrow. Not sure how that will settle on my stomach. Anybody have any suggestions? :-)

I drink a lot of unsweet tea from fast food places like chick fil a. I'd check out the lemonade first on my fitness pal just to see how much sugar is in there. Personally, sugar is the kicker that makes me really sick if it has too much. With unsweet tea, I can sweeten it myself with equal or something. It does the trick for me because I have a hard time drinking Water too.

I was unable to drink plain Water after surgery, it just made me sick and made Frankensleeve cramp up. Crystal Light lemonade was the only thing I drank and pretty much the only thing I still drink. I have loved the flavor ever since I found it in the early 2000's. I never worried about getting in the recommended amounts of liquids and Protein during those first weeks. Frankensleeve was so swollen and had bad reactions to almost everything.

As long as I got some fluids in me all day long and I felt okay, I was satisfied that I was going to be allright. I really don't believe the Fluid intake and Protein intake recommendations are realistic for the 1st month post-op. My new sleeve was just too swollen and sore for 64oz. of Water and 60 - 80 grams of protein a day.

The lemonade at Chik-Fil-A is sposed to be sugar free. They have regular and sf. 2 gms of sugar and 20 calories in a med sf lemonade. I think 20 calories is a bit much for sf lemonade, IMO, but it's fine if it's not something regular...

All Crystal Light flavors give me heartburn now. For the first few months I drank diluted apple juice. Although it had calories it was the only thing I could get down in large enough quantities to keep me hydrated. I started at 50/50 juice to Water and gradually increased the water. Your Protein Drinks count towards your daily Fluid intake as well as skim milk, Decaf coffee and tea.....it doesn't have to be all water. sugar free ice pops count too. It may sound odd, but try sipping chicken broth from a mug like tea as an afternoon "snack" I found it easy to sip and it was a break from the sweet flavor of Protein drinks, ice pops and juice.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
