Does anyone else have a problem drinking Protein Shakes? Within minutes of taking even a couple small sips of a Protein Shake, regardless of brand, I'm nauseated and my stomach gurgles and churns for hours. It wasn't like this before surgery...I could drink them with no problems. Since Protein shakes are one of the best ways to get my protein in, I'm severely lacking meeting that need other ways. I've been getting only 20 - 30 grams of protein a day without the protein shakes.

I have this same problem today I went to GNC and bought Isopure it has 40g of Protein and it's is slightly easier for me to get down bc it is not a shake it is more like Gatorade or something like that ... It is not like a OMG this tastes great it just is the only way I will be able to get my protein until I can actually eat something.

I switched to lactose free milk and my stomach issues disappeared. Never had a problem before surgery either! Hope that helps!

GENEPRO http://www.musclegen.net/ .... this is oderless and tasteless and does not clump. You can add it to hot or cold....or just sprinkle over your food. This stuff is great. One tablespoon equals a scoop of whey and has 30 grams of Protein. It is approved by John Hopkins and has 96% absorbtion. You can also order it from Amazon. I go by every morning to a shake shop....get a Chunky Monkey (35 grams of protein).....add a scoop of GENEPRO (30 grams of protein)....mid morning I fix a Crystal Light and add another scoop.....I already have 95 grams for the day!!! I too never had a problem with Protein shakes before the surgery.....I got where I could not choke one down and was averaging (if I was lucky) 30 grams of protein a day before I heard of Genepro. I tried Isopure and first thought they were great.....then I started adding Crystal light to them where I could drink them but they left such an after taste. I tried everything.....contact the website and they will send you a sample.

Thank you TexasLady52!!! I just wrote a post on another feed begging for advice. I am sickened by the Protein supplements. I have tried so many and can't stand them. An odorless, tasteless, minute amount is exactly what I need. I wish I could take a pill and be done with it. Anyway, I ordered this GENEPRO just now after reading your advice. I hope this works better for me. Again, thank you!

I just ordered some Protein Bars and Protein chips from Quest Nutrition. I tasted a chip today, and while not quite like a potato chip, they are pretty good. Haven't tried the bars yet. Also, found a Breakfast shake called Smart Start (they are located near the carnation breakfasts products). They have 15 grams of protein and taste good. They have not left me feeling sick to my stomach. Yay!!!

I had my surgery in March and I still don't like the Protein Shake but I have notice

That if I put ice and drink it real cold it taste a little better I wish that would come in a pill

To it would be so much easier.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
