I was sleeved on August 11. I lost 12lbs by first doctors visit which was Wednesday. Today I got on the scale and I've gained 2 lbs. Has this happened to anyone else?

Yes!!! I lost 10lbs first week then gained 2 back then lost 3. I've realized that I'm not a fast loser like some others. I'm ok with it though I am going to start working with a trainer. I also had some dessert. I think tht contributed

I was also sleeved on Aug 11 I lost 13lbs really quick and then stalled out for 5 days. My scale finally moved 2 more lbs yesterday once I was able to get my calories up to 600 from 450.

I was sleeved on July 30. I lost weight the first week and then got to a halt. I did not lose any weight and actually gained 3 pounds back at some point. After week 4( that is 3 weeks at the same weight) I got really upset and ate junk food and started loosing weight again. I am at week 5 now and seem to be back on track, but I also joined a gym, so that might have helped. I have been very depressed with the whole process. Now that I am moving to regular food my mood seems to be getting better.

I gained weight the week of my surgery which was last Monday. I refuse to get back on the scale at this point. My husband just made me a scrambled egg and I was able to eat half of it before I could s,tart to feel the restriction so I quit. But. OMGOSH did that ever taste good after a week of Water and Protein Drinks.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
