Lots of new bandsters coming up throught the ranks!! I'm so excited for all of us!

I was banded 9/15. Still on the mushies phase. Not feeling any restriction yet. Gaining back the weight I lost on the liquid phase - not worrying about it after reading a gazillion posts from the wise and wonderful people here - that it's normal and not to worry until I get a fill!

I'm looking forward to being us a bunch of losers!

BETTY, Your being banded the 18th? Wow, that just crept right up on me! Congrats girl, get ready to do some strength training to hold that Harley up W/O using your weight to your advantage.

LOVE ME, You were banded on the 5th, OMG! That snuck up on me.

live2, your right you just wait for your fill! You'll start dropping the weight, My second fill has made a huge difference! I'm having to relearn what all I can eat.

Mrs. Queen Michelle, You let me know when you're going to any sort of bash because I want to go. You can be my seragant mama if you don't mind since I don't have one.

I think all of us newbies ought to get togather for a bash of our own! What do ya think?

I heard it gets really hot there and I sweat so much because of my fluff, I could never go there. After I get banded I will use the money I save from buying food to go!!! I want to be one of those people who bitches it is too cold when it is 70* and sunny.

Want to let everyone know Michelle came thru the surgery just fine. I went to visit her at the hospital. They changed her time from 8:30 this morning till 11am. So she wasn't in her room when I got there but still in recovery. AS I was leaving to head home they brought her down. She look great. "said I'm hungry" lol She is having some gas pains but other then that she looks good and is smiling. She got the same room and bed I had. It was a good bed for me so hope its the same for her.

I'm sure she'll be on here tomorrow when she gets home.

Greg, have you thought about what you're going to do when you're under goal by Christmas? Hey, don't expect any sympathy from me! LOL

Yes I have thought about it. I'll probably have a good cry as things are going so well for me that I can't handle it LOL... but I'm going to take a Christmas drink as my treat. If for some reason I don't then no rum and flat diet coke LOL.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
