I was told not to worry about Protein as much as fluids. My goal the next couple of days is at easy 40 g protein and at east 64 oz liquids. My Dr said hydration is more important than protein this week.

Ok I had my first Protein Shake this morning and it really made me feel better. Granted I haven't finished it yet...but I'm working on it. Had some chicken bouillon and Water is now my new favorite.... Feeling better and better everyday....anybody have any tips in how to get the liquid Tylenol with codeine down, it just tastes horrible!

I was sleeved and had a tubal ligation on the 8th can't really stomach anything but Water n Popsicles. My doctor told me to not worry about the Protein and other liquids til the following Monday. But I've been moving around good so far. The first couple days were rough though. I had lots of pain and nausea. It was very uncomfortable for me.

Today I've felt more puny- - I called the doctor about my diarrhea - they said it's common in this stage-

I ate some cream of mushroom Soup - who would of thought that was the bomb- but it was- just to have other flavors than I've been having-

Also, my stomach has felt like a rock here and there, not even when I'm eating or drinking- almost like a cramp.

I've only done one dose of Tylenol today.

I have a follow up appointment in Tuesday- anxious to see if I have lost the 8 pounds I gained in the hospital!!

Just think in a week we will be experts, and be getting this stage all figured out!!

I would check with dr tomorrow. If it is thrush they can give you a prescription mouth rinse.

Actually, I got to thinking that I bet it's from my tab that dissolves in my tongue for nausea - but I do feel like my mouth needs cleaned more than before surgery- like every 3 hours I need to brush-

I go to the doctor on Tuesday.

The first few days I really struggled to get any liquids down. The gas pain was the worst. I have a drain tube in and that has made sleeping difficult. So been sleeping on the couch. On the second day it took me 8 hours to get a small Jello down. Now it's only 30 min. I am also finding cold and hot liquids go down easier. My favorite is caffeine free peppermint tea. My tube should come out Wednesday so then I will actually sleep in a bed. We are on the healing side and anxious for the weight loss. Each day I feel stronger and have had no regrets!!!. This is so worth it. Good luck all. My phone is not cooperating with me on this site so it's difficult to make post and changes.

I feel the best I have since surgery. I went grocery shopping with my husband today and it felt good to get out.

Is anyone else having a hard time with Water? Protein Drinks go down just fine but water causes instant cramping and pressure.

I have been doing best with things other than Water, G2 (the low calorie gatorade) has been going down really well.

I have read that many people do have trouble with plain Water soon after surgery.

Okay day 9 how is everyone doing?

I'm feeling much stronger but still experiencing a lot of soreness.

I am wondering how fast we should be drinking? I'm not sure if I should still be taking tiny sips or what. Any idea?

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
