I'm still experimenting with soft foods to determine which agree with me and which don't.

Friendly foods:

  • oatmeal
  • Yogurt
  • Most Soups
  • Applesauce
  • Refried Beans
  • Oscar Mayer Carving Board smoked turkey

Unfriendly foods (tend to make my sleeve feel like it's clogged up even when chewed well):

See my ticker below for my progress.

How often are you checking your weight. I have noticed on somedays or even over a two day period I might only lose a few ounces and that makes me disappointed. Would love to get some feedback from others.

Thanks

I have been the same the last few days! I hope I am not at a stall two weeks out. I have lost a total of 13lbs since surgery so I am still doing great I just haven't had any big drops since the first week.

I was checking everyday and I started to get discouraged. I am now only checking once every couple of days I am going to try to only check it on Mondays

I am checking every day. I had a bariatric dr tell me once that successful weight losers do that so they see upward trends immediately and respond. So I do.:-)

Only down 10 lbs since surgery the 11th. Had hoped for more but I wasn't losing 5 pounds a week EVER before - so I'll take it. I've lost only 17 pounds with pre diet included but still feel much better. I look the same - except my ankles look thinner.:-)

Overate today. Beans. Trying to eat watery mushy stuff like I'm supposed to. Went down so easy - I ate too much. Definitely makes you feel pukey.

I'm a bit concerned because, although on Prilosec to control acid - I feel hungry a LOT and feel no fullness after I eat. I'm worried that I don't have the restriction I will need. Obviously I need it or I wouldn't have put myself through this, right?

Suz from what I have read you are probably still swollen and numb from surgery (only 15 days out). Also, I have heard you don't really feel restriction until you start solid food. You have done great for only being15 days out. I can't wait to be where you are right now! Congratulations on your new journey :)

Hey everyone I'm doing pretty well since surgery! Down 20 lbs since surgery and feeling better everyday. Went back to work last week and was a bit tired.

Hello All. I had my 2 week post op apt today. I have lost a total of 26 lbs since the pre op apt. 11 of that is since the surgery...15 before surgery. I am trying really hard to keep in mind that it doesn't matter how much I lose on a day to day or week to week basis....it only matters that the number doesn't go up!

My doc wants me to continue on a full liquid diet for 2 more weeks. I was bummed. I was really looking forward to pureed foods! But, I trust him. Good news is I can add some different things to my liquids now. I can add a little Peanut Butter or instant Decaf coffee to my shakes now and some fruit as long as its pureed completely. I can also have pureed chili as long as its the consistency of Soup. So I dug into that for dinner!! So excited! lol

I am two weeks post-op and weight is down 35lbs. Still on soft food diet and using Myfitnesspal app to track my cal., protien, Vitamin, and carb intake. Only able to do about 1 to 2 oz of food at four times a day. Struggling with heartburn at times.

there will be days you will lose nothing then all of a sudden 5--8--13 lbs lighter . I weigh everyday and that's awful. I had my surgery last Oct and I'm down 55 lbs. my goal was 65 lbs and it seems this last 10 is crazy. 3 months and only 2 lbs. I drink Decaf coffee and I use flavored Creamers. When I go a couple days without coffee I drop 3-5 lbs, I go back to drinking and I put those lbs right back on... Can't break the coffee habit so easily ... Darn it!!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
