Constipation Issues

Recommended Posts

I have had the same problem since I started soft foods. Never had a problem when on the liquid diet. I took Miralax the other day and it cured the problem in a day. Sure hate taking it all the time though ... I know I wouldn't be able to get a prune down :(

I didn't poo for 21 days. During the time I was on colace, dulcolax, and 2 enemas a day. When i finally pooped I felt amazing. Im still on lactolace and 2 enemas a week. Just to maintain some type of relief.

Omg! 21 days without pooing! You must have been worried. I'll bet you dropped a good number if pounds once you finally did. Did you have to go to your doctor for this?

My Dr suggests Dulcolax and Miralax. I drink a very small amount of the Miralax in my coffee each morning - then on Friday at bedtime I take a dulcolax. It seems to be working pretty well. I am someone who has always had an issue with this though so a week is not a major concern for me! lol

I've been stuck, both on weight and #2. Weight for three weeks and #2 for a week. I drank Smooth Move tea last night and this morning, after #2 decided to evacuate, I lost 4 lbs. Whew! What a relief, in both ways! (Although it was most inconvenient and interrupted my treadmill time with my friend. :/ ) My stomach/intestines were grumbly for a few hours and I didn't feel so great but hey, it worked!

As a post gastric bypass patient I had problems with Constipation for the first time in my life. My doctor recommended The Lady Soma Fiber Cleanse & after 3 days of taking the capsules there was no strain, no stress. Every morning (without fail) I would have a nice bowel movement. It's been 3 months since that experience, & I've gotten my mother using Lady Soma too,

The directions talk about a 15 day cleanse. How many do you take as your daily maintenance dose?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
