Yeah, 27lbs is a lot of extra weight to carry around. I was at the grocery store yesterday and the bagger said to me " you've lost a lot of weight". Its so funny because the folks at work haven't said a thing.

I started back at the gym yesterday and have a personal trainer for at least nine training sessions. Hopefully this will get the loss moving more consistently. Wish me luck. Thanks for all the support everyone.

@@Peekboo

My doctor gave me a referral for a trainer at our community wellness center. I need to set up an appointment and start some strength training.

@@peek, wishing you luck w/the trainer. You & I are in the same boat (slow weight los). I've lost 22lbs sinced being sleeved, 7 weeks ago. I thought I was going to escape the dreaded stall but as luck would have it, I've been in a stall for over a week. Not discouraged , just trying to refocus & up the workout.

I WILL REACH MY GOAL!

Kathy, thank so much. It's a bit scary not to lose weight faster after having such a drastic surgery. I'm going to see my nutritionist on Thursday and see if im doing something wrong. Its funny, when I feel like ive eaten too much in a day, say 1000, calories, that's when I seem to lose. I hear most folks here saying they struggle to eat 600 calories. I dont understand it. How many calories are you eating a day?

You guys will both reach your goal!!! Just keep doing what you're supposed to do and the weight will come off. =)

Peek, I'm one of those people that struggles to eat. I sometimes have a hard time getting in 400 calories a day (my NUT recommends between 400-800 at this stage).

Steph, so what is normal food day like? Do you get hungry? I do but it doesn't take much to fill me up.

I've got my last 50 days worth of food on MFP. My diary should be public. I've logged in every single thing I've eaten, except for Vitamins (just started logging those).

Typical day:

Breakfast: Premier Protein shake 160

Lunch: some type of meat, usually chicken. I can only eat between 1-2 ounces of meat, on a good day. Then I get full.

Dinner: same as lunch

Snack: I was eating a snack of cheese, yogurt or something, but the past two weeks, food seems revolting.

I got really sick feeling after swimming last week, so I've been drinking Gatorade to up my calories a little.

I have not yet felt hungry.

@@peek I am eating 900 calories but I'm told to eat between 900 to 1100. Like you, my sleeve handles most food. I have to be careful not to eat more-cause I can. Which is a little scary to me.

I am trying to be more diligent about my workouts to see if that helps.

I did read on another thread that if you don't lose weight, up your calories and Protein and you should start losing again. Not sure how true that is. I have an appointment with my nutritionist next week, so that is something I will definitely discuss.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
