I am not sure why this is ...but ever since my lap band surgery I am SOOOOOO tired. I exercise twice a day and try to keep moving but I am tired all of the time, and I am not sure why. This is only been happening since I had my surgery 6 months ago. Has this happened to anyone else or am I just abnormal LOL. I was thinking about taking something to give me a boost of energy, I am eating enough Protein , but it's not doing the trick. Are there any SAFE over the counter things I can take to boost my energy level?

well that's kind of my problem, I had to switch ins companies and my ins doesn't kick in for a few more weeks so i am not able to go until then, which is why i am hoping i can take something over the counter until then.

My trainer has told me that with my diet and all the exercise, if I'm not getting AT LEAST 8 hours of sleep every night that my body is not going to re-build itself. She said it was a HUGE mistake to not get enough sleep right now!! It's probably your body saying, "REST PLEASE!!"

I'm almost certain it's down to anemia. Try and take an Iron supplement. I've just started taking something called Spatone. I'm not sure if there is something similar in the US but ask a pharmacist; they should know!

Your body is definitely trying to tell you something. Maybe you're pushing yourself too hard - why not cut exercise for once a day?

If you're sleeping enough, maybe there are some nutrients missing from your daily diet, you should have it checked out with some nutritionist. What about Vitamins? Most docs usually recommend it.

My Dietician wants me to get a minimum of 80 grams of Protein per day. There is a quick equation to figure out daily protein requirements: weight divided by 2.2=grams of protein per day.

Also bare minimum requirement for basal metabolic functions you need 48 oz. of Water per day. You should try to get @ least 64 ounces a day. I feel better when I get more.

Hope this helps!

I found a nice Protein powder---not a shake---just a colorless tasteless powder, that I can add to salads, sprinkle on anything, and add to my protein intake considerably. I got it at GNC, called Any whey.< /p>

...I exercise twice a day and try to keep moving but I am tired all of the time, and I am not sure why. ...

How many days a week are you exercising? I normally exercise twice a day and if I don't take a couple of days a week off I start to drag big time. I ususally either take the weekend off or do a 3 day on 1 day off / 2 day on 1 day off routine, depending on my schedule and/or how I feel. I think most experts recommend a 3 day a week workout schedule to give your body time to recuperate and consolidate between workouts.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
