Wow! Almost at 4 Year Anniversary

Recommended Posts

Wow. I can't believe I'm just about three weeks away from the 4-Year anniversary of being banded. I've not made it to my goal yet, but I am only 32lbs away. I keep telling myself how far I have come. 32lbs? I got this. That last fill I had, has really helped. The weight loss is slooooowwww, but fairly steady. And at least it is moving in the right direction. Down. A few people at work have noticed the roughly 10lb loss since that last fill and have complimented me on it. That feels good. It is easy to be frustrated about the loss being slow, but it is healthier to lose slower after all.

I am fitting into some of the smaller clothes I have, so that is awesome with awesome on top. I've given myself a goal. I've vowed to not go on Facebook until I lose 7 more lbs. I needed a break from it anyhow. Out of all the things in my life that I wish were different and/or better, this weight loss is the one thing I can control.

So, I started this, this past week and I'd hoped to have lost another 1-2 lbs by this Wednesday, but I'm not sure that's happening. I just have to keep at it. That's where I'm at. I hope everyone else is doing well. Best of luck to you all.

Can't complain about losing weight can we. I'm in the same boat. Should take me about 3.5 years to finally reach my goal and I'm good with that. Well done and high 5s to you ^5^5

Thanks, everyone. Good luck to you all too! JustWatchMe, looks like you're doing a great job. I've recently gained some from medicine I'm on and it is disheartening. Hopefully it is Water weight and will lose it, when I'm off the medicine. I just think though that before this medicine, I was only 31 pounds away from my official goal weight. I'm keeping at it.

Keep it up, everyone.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
