Warning, Self Pity Party Ahead

Recommended Posts

I've just gotta chime in because I AM one of those people who can wear a 16 weighing 240. I am not extremely tall.. 5'7, but my bariatric clinic measures how much your bones weigh to calculate your goal. My bones weigh 171 pounds. So I am going to be a "heavier" size 16 due to that. Everyone's bones weigh different. So more goes into your goal weight than just height and frame. Just thought I'd add what I learned to this post. I'm jealous of all you who can weigh 150 pounds. As you see, that will never happen for me. ;)

I want to know what my bones weigh too! I am really tall, 6'1", and weigh 225-230. I currently wear L and XL on top but need 16W or 18 misses in pants so am bottom heavy and, if you saw my earlier post today, have a saggy ass! Anyway, body-types and clothing manufacturers sizing can vary greatly so try to let go of the clothing size envy feelings. My body changed so much in the beginning and it still is changing. Just try to love yourself thru this amazing transformation that you are going thru!

So hey found this

http://www.healthstatus.com/calculate/fsz

Measure your writ and elbow size and voila

It also says that bones weigh 15% of your total weight. So I think your docs office needs to use better math skills

According to this website I have a small frame. Huh! Me? A small frame? I've never had a small anything! I do, now, have very slender wrists. Never realized that my wrists were that fat before. It's interesting.

Ok, I am at goal and absolutely do not want to get smaller.. however I am still mostly a medium top and if fitted..might need a size 8 dress. My butt on the other hand... size 4 (some size 2 even). Sizes are all over the place and lack consistency..also I have broad shoulder and big ribcage....and breasts. Be prepared that even when you get to goal you may think you should fit a different size...but it really does not matter. Others don't notice. I am single and dating and I can assure you no man has said to me... gee..you'd be perfect if you were a size "x". Go for an overall"look" of health and fitness, that is where it's at!!! You'll get there!

Nothing fits!!! I gave up on jeans. It appears my new body shape reflects that of a sack of potatoes. I have resorted to those stretchy yoga pants and a loose top. I swore I would never wear those exercise pants because they should never be in extra large, but it is the only thing that fits right now. On a sadder note: I was looking for a nice pair of walking summer shorts. Then my husband try on a pair of these. Oh crap! now I am wearing his clothes-it is the only ones that fit right. It is a sad day when you resort to hubbies side of the closet for your new wardrobe.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
