Metallic taste in mouth

4 days out from surgery. Have bad metallic taste in mouth and mouth feels funny. Everything tastes bad. Can we have sugar free lollipops or hard candy. Anyone else have this?

You might have thrush. It's common with this type of surgery. All you need is a special mouthwash prescribed by your doctor and you'll feel better in no time.

Here is one of those instances where we are obligated to suggest that you call your bariatric team and ask them. That being said, I had that off-taste which went away when I completed some of my post-op meds.

I had/still have that too. I think it is the ketosis breath from no carbs. My surgery was Tuesday - I just bought a few packs of gum today, and mint life savers. There are many different opinions on this, but I couldn't stand tasting my own breath and had to do something!
