When I first had my surgery, that was exactly the way I felt. In checking with a bunch of other people who had surgery around the same time found out that they were in the same boat. Your body has gone through surgery and many changes. You will be tired for a while, but you will eventually get your strength back. Don't rush it.

That could also be a problem I was doing injections but where I live we've run dry so I have to buy the pills and I think they are 1250 each pill

I just had my post-op appt and asked about this. Dr. Hart opined out I am only getting around 600 calories a day and am dehydrated. I switched to Powerade Zero and Zero Vitamin Water to make sure I am getting enough electrolytes. That's beginning to help. Plus, he said, my body is recovering deform major surgery. That alone tires one. Keep doing what the doctor prescribed. Well all get past this point.

I was tired for at least 6 weeks, then off and on for a few more. I take 2 B12 now. At the time I was was also told to drink Poweraid Zero and even regular Gatorade.

I am 4 months out and I am always tired. It's non stop. I come home and crash. I am a bit lazy with my nutrients. But I do have a sublingual B12 everyday. My Iron is def low and that also causes fatigue. I wish I could just get the b12 and iron shots and be good. I think I am going to talk to my surgeon because it's getting harder to function.

I had my surgery March 4 of this year and I have days when I feel tired. What I have found is that I must exercise, take my Vitamins and get a good night's sleep. Stress also affects how I feel. Check your vitamins. I take a liquid: Source of Life Gold and that seems to help.

Do they do iron injections? I'm wondering if my irons low.

I am four months out too. I have to take my Vitamins every day like clock work. I also take extra D.

My surgeon probably wouldn't want to hear this but I do have an extra coffee or tea in the late afternoon when I'm really tired.

Also I take Milk Thistle which supports your liver. Our livers have to do so much work processing all the fat and everything that comes out of it.

I have been bouncing off the walls since I came home from the hospital. The doctor told me to relax for two weeks afterwards, I relaxed by cleaning the house and the garage out. I thought going to the gym would wear me out, but it doesn't. I am so glad I have so much energy now, before all I would do is sit around and watch TV. My house is much cleaner.

Glad to see this question come up. I had my surgery on 7/22 and I am exhausted most of the time, especially first thing in the morning. Guess, I need to have my B-12 checked. Thanks for the info!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
