I havent notice any mayjor changes. I'm still alittle uncomfortable and cant sleep. The Doc said I could go back to sleeping on my stomach, I was hoping that would help, but I still toss and turn. I'm down 22lbs thow and that makes it all worth it.

Let me walk you thru the ticker thing.

1. click on someone's ticker - it will take you to the website to create yours.

2. click the box that says: "Create your own ticker"

3. click the "WEIGHT LOSS" or "EVENT" (your choice if you want to track the weight loss or count down to the surgery -- or count from the date you had surgery.) I am going to assume you clicked "WEIGHT LOSS" for the following steps.

4. click the ticker bar you wish to have as yours (there are 13 pages of designs to choose from - to see another page just click the page #) once you have decided - click "NEXT"

5. click the ticker slider you wish to have as yours (there are 7 pages of designs to chose from) once you decided - click "NEXT"

6. complete this page with your options - password; tracking by change of weight or showing actual weight and lbs lost; your target and starting weight; current weight and weight date; your height - click "NEXT"

7. highlight the code in the first box - starts with "[url=http://www.TickerFactory.com/weight-loss/..." copy it (right mouse click - copy)

8. goto your "EDIT SIGNATURE" on your lapbandtalk and paste it (right mouse click - paste)

9. preview signature -- then add spaces and additional content as you wish.

Let me know if you need more help -- or if you have questions regarding these instructions.

Good Luck!<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>

Hi All,

I was banded 4/5 and I am feeling great! I have to remind myself I just had surgery, like I wanted to give blood at a blood drive two weeks out, luckily my sister is a nurse practioner and she reminded me while on liquids maybe I shouldn't give blood! Now I have to remember still no heavy lifting. Anyway, my major change has been that my rings are no longer cutting off my circulation! I have been forgetting and sleeping with them on because they fit so well. They used to leave deep inprints on my fingers. Hows that for a NSV? Good luck to all!

Hi all - was banded on 4/30/07 and as of today am feeling pretty good. Have lost 12 pounds since the surgery - am drinking Slim Fast and eating some soft food - drinking lots of Water and iced tea. Having real hunger pangs though - which I hope will go away soon; after a fill I suppose? Very nervous about eating anything as I don't want to vomit - which is a motivator to stop early!

No real issues for me - bloating and gas finally went away a few days ago...some tenderness around what I think is the port site. Like everyone, am nervous of band slippage and port flipping, but I'm going to assume the best and look forward to the first fill to really get going. Would kill for salad right about now!!! ;-)

You need time to heal -- When they place the band on -- you will have some swelling which equals restriction for some for a period of time-- and they take a portion of your stomach and pull it up over the band and place a few stitches (I have 5 there) to hold it in place --- to help prevent band slippage. These need time to heal completely as well.

You have time to get use to the new way (do's and don'ts) of eating as well.

My doctor waits 6 weeks -- but as you read there are many different plans.

Just my opinion.

Hi, Tracy! I was banded on 4/10/07 and started out doing well, but am losing ver-r-r-r-r-y slowly. I lost 11 pounds prior to surgery and now only 7-8 pounds since surgery with one fill. I haven't exercised at all so maybe this is causing the slow weightloss. What I've been doing is walking more when I shop, standing more to do tasks, but this doesn't seem to be helping at all...

Good Job everyone. I was banded on 4/30/07. I had my first fill yesterday, not bad, felt a little weird. They put only 1cc in, is the norm, it didn't seem like much. I am on liquids for a day, then slowly to solids again. It's okay, but I feel a little gassy for some reason, is this normal? Has anyone had this problem after a fill?

Good Luck to all you April Bandsters!!!

I wish that I could say that I am exercising.. but have yet to... I am working full time, going to college full time and have a 2 & 5 year old at home... I am lucky to get sleep!

I do eat much, much better and much less!

I have cut out the white flour items (no bread or rice) and of course choose low fat- sugar free items... I think my weakness is chips & salsa.. lol! Found that it is not too bad to eat that! I want a soda so bad though.. I am a stress eater and chew lots of gum! So if I am feeling stressed I try to drink Water and chew gum... silly i know.. but it is that or find something that I can eat...

I still have not mastered the chew-chew-chew method or the smaller bites so I get maybe 10% into my meal and it hurts so I stop... I am taking Vitamins DAILY!!! I thing that just cutting the bread, rice and sodas has helped as well. If you cut those out without the lapband it would help!

I need to exercise and have all of the stuff to do it on.. it is just a matter of doing it...

I have changed my starbucks drink to non-fat, sf...

it is the little stuff!!!

I think that I have about 15 more to go as I don't want to look sick... I am only 5'1" with a small frame so if I loose too much I will not look good.. I think that i will know when I get there.. I hope...

Hi, I'm Teri, from California. I was banded on 4-23-07. I lost 13lbs before the surgery and 14lbs since the surgery. I had my first fill 4 1/2 weeks after surgery-not a real big change in eating, 2nd fill was 6/13/07 at that time, I weighed exactly the same (no weight Loss), I'm due for my third fill on 7-18-07. I'm nervous, I feel like I'm not doing that well. Somedays I feel lighter than other days, I never weigh, unless I go to the doctor (im too chicken) When I first recd. my fills, I surely felt the tightness, but after a week or so, eating becomes easier. So I'm concerned I've stretch it, or the Fluid has leaked out some how, I'm a worry wart too. I know that I'm not the same as before and thats a good thing for me. Little goals one at a time. Happy to be here with all you other April 07 bandsters- please keep me updated with your concerns, facts, progress- I want to know it all. Your Friend, Teri

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
