I am getting my third fill tomorrow. Most of the time, I still feel the same hunger and cravings I had before my lap band surgery. The doctor told me it may take me to the third or fourth fill to get to the green zone. Is this considered normal. For all accounts , I cannot tell I have had surgery.

Is this going to get better???????

Relax, yes it will get better. The cravings may never go away, but the hunger pangs should. Everyone has to deal with cravings, it's a mental thing that Lap-Band doesn't help. The hunger does go away when you have the right fill. Like most of us, you'll have to work to figure out the difference between true hunger and mental hunger (easier said than done). Remember ... it's a marathon, not a sprint.

Hang in there....I felt the same feelings you are having :) I had a fill in May - lost 10lbs the first week and 1/2 then nothing for 6 weeks...asked my doc for a 1/2 cc (total of 8) and can tell a difference. Do I still have to stop myself from picking pu the bag of chocolate and devouring it - you bet I do...but thankfully with the lap band I CAN DO IT!!!! It helps me make better, healthier decisions....and for that I am forever thankful. Do I still get feelings of doubt? I sure do...but I also know that if I eat healthy and continue to take my daily walks that I CAN and WILL lose this weight I've carried all my life.

You will find this forum to be very helpful and encouraging. So keep coming back here when you have questions/fears/anxieties...:)

@@Ga Gurl your doing great, right on track working with your doctor is the best way to find your sweet spot. I have had multiple fills and am high in the number of CC's in my band before it kicked in for me. Hubby who is banded at the same time is much lower in CC's and the number of fills. There is not "right" formula for everyone. We are all different there is no generic one size fit's all or average take on it.

I personally like that, cause it means that every time I see my Dr. there isn't a cookie cutter formula that they dispense out and send me on my way. I get personalized attention, and we all deserve that :)

Everyone is different. I had one adjustment in January and I thought, for quite a while that I was in my Green Zone but recent events... Eating a lot of sliders, larger than I should portions, cleaning my plate, getting hungry after a meal sooner than I should and slow (slllooooow) weight loss finally convinced me that I had slipped back into lime/almost yellow. I had a 1/4 cc put in, today and I am hoping that that was just the little push I needed.

We'll see. ;)

This isn't a competition. Get the number of adjustments and amount of Fluid that works for you. :D

You want to find your sweet spot - where you can eat but it limits the amount of what you eat. you will get to that spot and then you will find that you don't get hungry as often and when you do it - it's smaller portions. it's a great thing when you are at that spot. you will be losing weight but it will be a slow and steady weight loss. just take your time getting to the spot. if you get filled to much or too fast then you get to the spot that you can't keep anything down - not even liquids. and that is a terrible way to loss weight. you don't keep it off that way and you are miserable as well.

Slow and steady is what I say - for losing the weight and for when I eat. lol

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
