I am 4 weeks post op. And it's my first week back to work. I dont seem to be able to get enough fluids and Protein, I'm so drained after work. I dont know what to do. Any suggestions. I'm hoping this will all change once I'm able to eat solid food.

How much longer will you have to be on liquids?

One thing that helps TREMENDOUSLY with energy is coconut oil... By the spoonful (if you could tolerate it) I had some today after not having it in a looong time and its 3:47am and I'm up cleaning... Way too much energy ;)

Try it.

Are you having trouble with fluids because of restriction? Taste? Water nausea? Unless it's the first one, I found that adding some lemon or lime juice to the Water really helped me in the beginning. I don't need it anymore, but around weeks 2-4, it helped me get in all my liquids.

Sounds like dehydration.

Early on post surgery, I mixed the powdered Protein with crystal light to make sure I was meeting both my protein and Fluid intake goals. There are many brands out there but I really like the Unjury Straberry Sorbet mixed with crystal light lemonade. I also used their chicken Soup protein. I found that getting in more protein not only helped my energy levels but my surgeon said it would help heal after surgery. Good luck!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
