My port is flipped already!!

Recommended Posts

I went today for a unfill. The doctor told me that my port had flipped also. Mine was almost all the way backwards. This doctor was awesome. He told me he could manipulate it back the right way. And he did it only took about 10 mins and a little pain. He was able to access my port. I'm not sure where your from but he is located in Dallas. He is awesome and did not give up kept trying.

I have a port question....do any of you find that there is a difference as to whether the port is placed nearly parallel with the stomach, or off to the side and lower?

I wonder if there are more problems if it's placed in one place more so than the other??

Mine was originally placed to the left of my big incision, or right under my left rib cage. As I lose weight it is migrating :Banane43: to the right a bit. It's almost under my big incision. I never really notice it unless I bump it or something.

This is why my doctor does the subclavian ports (just below the left clavicle where the bra strap meets the cup) and is training doctors to do the same.

Hi all,

I went in to get an un-fill. My dr tried 4 times to give me my fill. He couldn't get to it. He sent me to get x-rays and then we saw that it was tilted pretty good, not flipped though. He tried to get to it again, but he couldn't. He's asked that I try and lose more weight and hopefully there will be less fatty tissue around it for him to get to it. If next time I go in he can't get to it, then he'll have to go in surgically and tilt it back. I'm hoping I can lose enough weight in 6 weeks when I see him again.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
