@@allesun Don't sweat the stall, in time it will pass and then you will have a steady drop until the next stall! Trust me my stall lasted almost 2 full weeks and now I am in the 250's, I haven't been there in 5 years!

So here I am 25 days out and the scale moved down again! I am at 256.8. It is very exciting to see it go. I haven't weighed that in at least 5 years. I can see a difference in the clothes that I wear and at 1 month out which is Sunday I will post a side by side and you can all judge for yourselves. :) 18 lbs down is a pretty decent accomplishment. I'm hoping to be 25 lbs down by my birthday, which is the 29th.

No weight loss or gain since yesterday. Let's see if there is a pattern that I drop every other day. It all depends on tomorrow.

Since my birthday is this month I got a free medium beverage from DD, my absolute favorite coffee place and since I have temporarily given up coffee, I got a drink and gave it up to a friend at work. It was the French vanilla Swirl Latte. I had been dying to try it, and I took a sip and got smacked in the face with the sweetness, I stirred it up and took another sip, just as sweet and it wasn't good! This surgery took my sugar taste buds away!!! Sweets are no longer my friend. Normally that drink would have been perfect, but today I totally didn't like it. That's an unexpected perk, since I was pretty addicted to sweets.

Last night for dinner I borderline over ate. I had a small plate of food. Ate all the chicken and most of the edamame and when I got up to clean up the mess I could feel my tummy getting a bit irritated. It was maybe 2 bites too many, and it wasn't super painful, just a bit uncomfortable. I was fine in about 30 minutes, but it was a nice surprise.

No loss today, not sweating it. I'll probably drop a lb by the end of this week. :) I'm dying for an In-n-Out cheeseburger, no onions, Protein style. One of these days i'm goind to do it! I put on a favorite outfit of my mine today and I look cute. What a difference almost 20 lbs makes!

@Dragonfly1111 Thank you! It's smarter for my health to take everything in stride rather than be a debbie downer. :)

@@hhp29 I am so excited for you!! You will definitely wonder if you made a bad choice, but rest assured that time will cure you of that. I feel, for the most part, like a normal person. I just eat significantly less, and it doesn't bother me at all. Good luck! If you ever have questions I'm here!!

Yay the scale went down, and so has my belly! I weighed in today at 255.2 lbs this morning. Woohoo. I ate In-n-Out for dinner last night. I did the whole single patty Protein style and ended up ditching 98% of the lettuce and 60% of the Tomato and ended up with a patty, cheese, and thousand island. It was good though. It hit that spot thankfully and it was less than $2.50!! I'm saving money!

I've noticed that I hardly spend any money lately and I think that falls on the shoulders of my recent divorce (since I don't go out much anymore) and this surgery (since I don't eat fast food or go out to meals anymore). Which is really nice!!

3 more days until my one month and I am officially 20 lbs down. I'm very pleased. :)

I had a very unexpected surprise this morning. I weighed myself after my shower and I lost 1.2 lbs since yesterday?! That was definitely not what I thought I was going to see when I stepped on the scale. I am now a cool 254. My pants are starting to slip down, pants that once looked like they were painted on, since that was the style I liked. I have a great ass and I loved showing it off. :) I hope I get to keep it! Squats here I come!

I went to my ex-in-laws last night to help my old SIL with her hair and to see my nephews and I ended being there for a long time. Once we finished her hair I had a Protein Bar for dinner and we took a walk around her neighborhood which is almost 2 miles, at a fairly brisk pace and my poor thighs are killing me right now. I haven't been concentrating on the exercise aspect as I have just mostly been getting use to the food difference.

Now that the weather is nice I think I will head over there a couple times a week to walk with her until I'm ready to drag myself to the gym. Or as I get smaller I'll take a lap with my softball players, I coach softball with my ex-wife and her Aunt/Uncle/Sister/BIL every fall and spring. Now I will be a lot more active and I really look forward to that.

I don't think I ever mentioned but...I HATE exercise. That will be the real test of mind over matter.

Still 254 this morning. I had softball this morning, and I actually had to run around and hit and well I didn't have Breakfast at all, not even Protein. Just my gummy vitamins and Water. So unsurprisingly I got all shaky in my hands and legs, but I powered through and I feel pretty okay. I still haven't done my protein but I will after this. I feel worked out that is for sure, and I can definitely tell that I have lost my strength. I use to be very strong, but this weight loss has eaten up my muscles. Sad day. I count that as temporary though. I will get them back. :)

On a fun note. I bought my first smaller item of clothing for when I fit in a large and it is a gray pin striped halter vest that ties in the back. I greatly look forward to wearing that in a few months!! $6 on ebay! :) It came in the mail today. I love ebay.

Hello kiddos!! I weighed in yesterday afternoon and it was 251.6 and I didn't believe it. I was pretty sore for the day. I weighed in this morning because I didn't believe the weight from yesterday and I really am down to 251.6 holy cow!! Such a difference a day makes. I think I was tricked into hiking today so I'm having my Protein early so I don't kill myself up on Mt. Charleston.

As promised here is my 1 month change picture! I do see a difference!

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
