Annoyed by hunger / need to vent

Recommended Posts

I'm only a week out, so I've got a lot of healing to do... But I'm really annoyed by my stomach. It cramps and gurgles the way it would if it were hungry... It FEELS like hunger, and that is the most frustrating feeling I have right now.

I'm so pissed at myself for being angry. I want to feel happy and motivated, but I don't.. I've always been plagued with depression and anxiety, and I recently returned home after recovering at my mom's place. And I hate home so all I feel is anxious and depressed.. I was doing phenomenal until I got back home.. And now I just sit here thinking about food. You know why? Because that's all I ever did at this place. I live in my worst trigger point. It's awful.

Nothing I drink is satisfying, most of the time if I drink anything, I just get stomach pains. If I do manage to find something tolerable, I don't get a full feeling. I'm tired, I'm weak, I'm alone all the time with my thoughts of food, and I'm going crazy..

It's keeping me up at night..

I was kinda like that to at first but as the pain meds left my system and I started not to get hungry . Then acid hit me hard and I seem to be hungry but not thinking of crap food . I only eat on the list the dr gave me . I get hungry every hr or so and eat something cheese or cream of wheat or mash patoto or cottage cheese or tuna

I am sorry to hear you are having struggles.

Do you have to be home? Do you love alone?

If you don't have to be there - maybe go back to your moms for a little while. Nothing wrong with needing a comforting mom around to just talk to.

Positive influence and she can understand perfectly.

If you live alone - and can't go back to moms then maybe have some friends stop by occasionally for drinks. They can share your crystal light, Water, Protein shakes! Let's party and get you outta that funk.

This is a huge change for you - if you can move if that location holds negative memories.

A week after the sleeve, about 5 days actually, I went to the mall and walked slowly for several hours. Please find something to do to get your mind off food. Sit on a stool, clean out drawers, just occupy your mind. Then I promise you won't be concentrating on stomach noises. We all have them. I did things like sort through hundreds of photographs, made a new recipe book for my sleeve foods, researched the internet ones. I also walked slowly in the grocery, reading labels. You just have to get yourself up doing something and it will make a difference. I even enjoyed putting a chair in my closet and going through those fat clothes I knew I would never wear again. It was so much fun letting go of them. Watch some funny moves, just do something! Best wishes and I hope you have a good weekend. Keep us updated, the best s yet to be, I promise! Linda

I am sorry that you are struggling.

One thought I had was that maybe you can work on a plan to move or change your living situation since you said you hate where you live?

Even if it's something that will take a lot of time before you could actually move, you could put together a notebook, do research, make plans etc. Might make you feel better just to think about getting out. :)

Another option is to redecorate -- paint your walls or rearrange your furniture! Can make a big difference in how the place feels to you.

Are you taking an anti acid medication such as Prilosec? Acid mimicks hunger pangs. I noticed that feeling when I would skip my medicine. My dr told me to take 20 mg Prilosec 2x per day for four months. It makes a huge difference. Trust me, I tried stopping it early and felt terrible.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
