Hi everyone. I an getting super close to my surgery and I have been experiencing a lot of Naysayers regarding the sleeve saying you don't lose as much and the weight loss is slow. I would really appreciate some feedback. Maybe tell me what the weight loss for you in the first 4 months was and then monthly there after? Thank you so much in advance. BTW I am currently 364 and 5'5 I know weight and height also makes a difference.

I'm 1 year out. Started at 275 and now 157 today. Lost most in first 8 months. I'm at doc goal but 12 ponds from personal goal of 145.

I started at 380 and in less then 2 years hit my goal....The more you have to lose the faster it usually comes off in the honeymoon period....Weight Loss Surgery is like comparing apples to apples..Each has the main basics..Each are successful....

Just do what you want to do for yourself..This is your life not theirs!

I am currently two months out. I have lost a total of 64 lbs so far (25 pre-op and the rest post-op). It may not be as much as RNY, but honestly, I don't care. I feel fantastic. I have lost 20% of my bodyweight, I'm off all of the meds I was on pre-surgery, and I can do so much that just exhausted me before. I can walk with my bf and not feel like I'm slowing him down.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
