To belly band or not to belly band?

So I remember from my hernia repair and being cut 11" down the front....the Dr used a belly band. (Tight fitting huge ace wrap)

I just spoke to my drs assistant and she said u can request it or dont have to have it. Did u have one and if so was it helpful or made it worse??

I am THINKING I wanna use one again. It was very helpful last time I was cut like this. (Oh yeah, my Rny is going to be open and 2 hernia repairs. :)

Surgeys Tues

While I was in the hospital my nurse gave me one and my surgeon said I did not need it and did not want me wearing it, and I trusted him and found out that I felt better without it, remember that when you are wearing these bands they are holding everything in and compressing everything you want to build strength back in your stomach as well as support your back and this can be obtain through sitting properly or proping yourself up with a pillow. Good luck my friend and make sure you check wit your surgeon before putting one on.
