Check with your surgeon if you can have sugar free Popsicles or sugar free Jello before you have it. It will probably okay but I wouldn't do anything without asking.

Gum chewing is okay before surgery but never after. It will put air in your stomach and cause gas. I'm sure you were told this.

Good luck with your procedure.

Lock yourself in a room with Netflix. The only hard part was when people were eating on camera. Watch war movies? lol

Sorry, I feel you, one million percent!

I'm on day 4 of the 14 day liquid diet. I'm surprised that it's not as bad as I thought. However, I'm allowed 3 shakes a day, 2-3 Snacks which are non-fat yogurt (reg or Greek), low fat cream Soups (8oz), sf pudding (4oz), sf hot cocoa and unlimited sf Jello, broth or boullion, v8 and 2-3 sf Popsicles daily. Along with my 64 oz of fluids. Just 3 shakes I'd be starved! I feel for you!!! Good luck!

I am on day 5 of 14. I would love to have some kind of food. For my diet, you are to have 4 shakes, a bar, and the Soup mix, so 6 products a day and 64 oz of Water.

Not happening. I am good to get in 12 oz of Water and today I had 3 shakes and the bar. No Soup.< /p>

We are allowed a small banana per day and sugar free popcsicles and Jello.

Today is day 8 for me, yup not getting easier. Last food I had was a week ago. I have been doing 3-4 shakes a day some sf Jello and a sf popsicle. Today I went and bough weight watches ice cream ( just wanted a change) but then thought about it and they sit in the freezer.. Sigh...

So day 4 wasnt easy. I actually chewed up a bite of chicken and spit it out just to have a "taste" of it. Thats horrible. Tomorrow is day 5 and Thursday I am having a filter placed to prevent blood clots. So as bad as this is gonna make me look.... I am honestly addicted to food. I have to have something in my body or I feel I am gonna rip someone's face off.

Please dont judge....I know I screwed up! Lol I'm beating myself up constantly for it. Its even made me question if I can really even be successful. :( depressed is being mild.

No worries, we won't judge you as we have all been there. When it comes time for my pre op diet, I am not going to eat dinner with my family, the solid food would just make me hungry and the temptation to cheat would be too high. Are you getting enough Protein? That would be my main concern, as Protein shakes should hold you for awhile if the Protein level is high enough and are you drinking enough of them?. A lot of what you are feeling (wanting to rip someone's face off..etc) is also your body's way of dealing with the food addiction, you are most likely going through withdrawals of not having sweets or carbs or whatever you are addicted too.

I remember in a WW meeting one time we talked about using the word "starving" or "starving to death". I know it sounds silly, but self-talk like that is harmful because it blows up the severity of what we're feeling.

Maybe trying to limit the use of the word will help you not feel so desperate for food.

Best wishes!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
