Protein Shakes....What's your favorite?

Recommended Posts

So we all know by now how popular the Premier Protein is, but Im curious what other kinds of Protein people are liking out there. I've heard a lot of suggestions for nectar and Isopure, but what are your favorite flavors??

There is a list in the food section that rates all the Protein shakes, in the subforum Protein Shakes.

My favorite is Gaspari Myofusion Peanut Butter and chocolate. I get it from vitacost.com

I like Syntrax Nectar fuzzy navel. I just ordered 2 other flavors from them. I usually mix it with a flavor stick. I also like to make Protein smoothies. My favorite is creamsicle. I use vanilla body fortress when I do this.

I love alot of the Syntrax Nectars because there are alot of fruit flavors instead of the same vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry. My faves are fuzzy navel mixed with strawberry crush(flavoring stick for water), strawberry kiwi, Twisted cherry, lemon tea, and the lemonade. The possibilities of mixing them with other flavoring is endless. Oh I also like them because you can mix them with 16 of Water per scoop and get both 23 grams of Protein and 16oz of Water at the same time. But you can mix with milk if you like. For thicker style shake with milk I would recommend syntax matrix shakes. They come in flavors like mint cookie and Cookies and cream. They are truly wonderful. I hope this helps!!

I am not into making my own shakes so I buy the Muscle Milk Pro Series 40g Protein in 14 oz. in the mint chocolate flavor.

I haven't gotten a reply from my NUT yet, but I just asked him if I can drink it as I would Water or does is have to be taken slow like food. I am 4 1/2 weeks out and still on pureed foods but really like this Protein Shake but want to drink more than 3 oz at a time and drink it before it gets warm

I have almost every flavor that Sytrax Matrix comes in. They are all really good, and give you the most bang for the buck so to speak. 120 calories, 2 carbs, 25 grams of Protein. I like to mix the Peanut Butter flavor with Hood carb countdown chocolate milk and half Water.< /p>

I've had this shake for lunch twice this week. They have it at a gas station near my work. I love that I can get 40g in one shake. It takes me about an hour to finish it. I'm 3 weeks post op.

Syntrax matrix here too. LOVE the Peanut Butter cookie, but use them all. The vanilla is great in coffee for a latte!

It really depends on your taste. I find Unjury and Chike to both be way too sweet. I currently use "About Time 100% Natural Whey Isolate." I got it at GNC, but they sell it in Amazon, too. I just get vanilla and if I want chocolate or other flavors, I add them in. It's not real sweet and blends up beautifully. Before that I used Isopure. I don't like any of the ready to drink stuff. Way too sweet!

I'm 3 days post op. I haven't tried many. The only ones I can seem to handle are the Special K proton shakes but there's only around 10-12 g of Protein for one. The large amounts of protein tend to hurt my stomach and I'm not sure why. I can only get down half if I'm lucky and then I end up throwing it out.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
