Did you have to have an endoscopy so many months after VSG?

I Noticed on the paperwork that an endoscopy is recommended at 6 moths and 1 year out. Is this something you had to do?

My endocrinologist asked me to do this when I'm 6 months out, but i think this is for something other than the surgery. Although he knows about the surgery, I'm not sure if I'm in a rush to have him or anyone else poking around in there until I'm 100% comfortable that everything is fully healed and functioning fine, and I'm thinking that 6 months out may be sufficient. My surgeon only mentioned having an endoscopy done if he has reason to believe there are issues, but I guess this is something that each surgeon handles differently.
