Don't know how active this room is, but I could use prayer!

Recommended Posts

Hi all- I'm not sure how active the traffic is here, but tomorrow is my day and I could use some prayer for a successful surgery and NO complications. I have good trust in my surgeon but after all, this is major surgery.

thanks to all!

You have my prayers! I am sure you will do great and you can find several friends here to cheer you on!

I am in your corner. Let me know if you have any questions. I had surgery in Jan. and may be able to help.

Luck and love to you!

oh thank you all so much! Today is a bit emotional for me with all that is ahead and the kind words from you all brought a few tears.

I'm confident that all will go well.

Praying for you mi75 and all of the doctors, nurses, and medical staff involved in your care. Asking for your protection, peace, and healing. Asking for wisdom, discernment, and guidance for your surgeon, his team, and those taking care of you after surgery. :)

I pray God gives your surgeon and surgical team the skills to perform your procedure without any complications and I pray you have a speedy, complication-free recovery!

Once this phase is over, hang on...you're in for one heck of a journey, with an incredible new you waiting at the finish line! :D

God's Grace and a prayer as you go through this awesome surgery that will change your life in a wonderful way. May the Lord steady the strong and skillful hands of your surgeon, and give you peace, comfort and rest as you recover from surgery.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
